Where to Stay in Page, Arizona

Page has one main hotel strip, one scenic marina, and two quieter rows of budget motels. Pick wrong and you are driving 15 minutes to every tour. Here is what we found.

Lake Powell Boulevard Strip

Walk to your Antelope Canyon tour. Most hotels, best restaurants.

Mid-range $120-$210/night

Lake Powell Boulevard is Page's commercial spine and the obvious choice for most visitors. Courtyard by Marriott, Hampton Inn, and Holiday Inn Express all sit within two blocks of each other between 7th Avenue and Navajo Drive. Antelope Canyon tour operators have offices right off the same strip. Big John's Texas BBQ and Slackwater Pizza are within a five-minute walk. This is where 80 percent of tourists stay, for good reason. You will not need a car for morning tours. Book the east side of the boulevard for quieter rooms away from the truck traffic and gas stations.

Best for
First-timersAntelope Canyon tour groupsanyone who wants walkable restaurants
Walk times
  • Antelope Canyon tour operators 5 min
  • Slackwater Pizza on Lake Powell Blvd 3 min
  • Glen Canyon Dam Overlook 22 min
Skip if: You are here primarily for the lake. You will drive to Wahweap Marina either way.
Local tip: Request a room facing away from Lake Powell Blvd. Delivery trucks start at 5am and the road noise carries far.

Wahweap Marina Area

Wake up on the water. The only spot with real lake views.

Luxury $180-$290/night

Five miles southwest of downtown along Lakeshore Drive, Wahweap is where Lake Powell Resort sits directly above the marina. You are 200 yards from boat rentals and Rainbow Bridge tour departures. Glen Canyon Dam is a 15-minute walk east along the Lakeshore Drive access road. The tradeoff: every restaurant except the resort's own dining requires a drive back into town. Rooms run 30 to 50 percent more than the strip. Worth it if waking up to flat blue water and red canyon walls matters more than saving 60 dollars a night. Not worth it if your focus is Antelope Canyon.

Skip if: You came for Antelope Canyon or Horseshoe Bend. You will pay more and drive further.
Local tip: Book Canyon View rooms on the upper floors. The parking-lot-facing rooms cost the same and have no view.

North Navajo Drive (Budget Row)

Spend less. Sleep fine. Walk to the same tours.

Budget $75-$130/night

North Navajo Drive and the parallel streets behind it hold Page's independent motels and older properties. Bashful Bob's Motel and Page Boy Motel sit between 6th Avenue and Coppermine Road. Rates run 40 to 70 dollars cheaper per night than the boulevard strip for functionally similar sleep. You are still within a 12-minute walk of Antelope Canyon tour operators and a seven-minute walk to Walmart on Navajo Drive. Rooms vary more than chain hotels here. Read reviews with recent photos before booking. The savings are real but the quality floor is lower than the main strip.

Best for

Walk times
  • Walmart Supercenter on Navajo Drive 7 min
  • Antelope Canyon tour offices 12 min
  • Lake Powell Boulevard restaurants 14 min
Skip if: You value predictable hotel quality. Independent motels here range from fine to genuinely rough.
Local tip: Call ahead and ask when the property was last renovated. Some have not been updated since the 1990s and the photos do not show it.

South Page / Highway 89 South Corridor

Quiet nights. Closest base to Horseshoe Bend.

Mid-range $90-$160/night

The south end of Page along US-89 toward the Horseshoe Bend parking area is quieter than the main strip and draws far less foot traffic. Smaller motels sit between 1st Avenue and the Chaparral neighborhood along Elm Street. Horseshoe Bend trailhead is a five-mile drive south, making this the most logical base if that hike is your first priority and you want to beat the 7am crowds. You are under two miles from Antelope Canyon tour operators on Lake Powell Boulevard. Fewer dining options within walking distance. Best for travelers with a car who want quieter surroundings without paying marina prices.

Best for
Horseshoe Bend hikerscar-rental travelers who want fewer crowds and quieter rooms
Walk times
  • Elm Street local diners 8 min
  • Lake Powell Boulevard main strip 18 min
  • Horseshoe Bend trailhead 0 min
Skip if: You plan to walk to restaurants or tour offices. This area requires a car for almost everything.
Local tip: Leave for Horseshoe Bend before 6:30am. The parking lot fills by 8am in summer and the trail has zero shade at full sun.

What is the best area to stay in Page, Arizona for Antelope Canyon?

Lake Powell Boulevard is the clear winner. Both Upper and Lower Antelope Canyon tour operators are based within five minutes walk of the main hotel strip. Navajo Nation Tours and Ken's Tours both operate within two blocks of the Courtyard and Hampton Inn. Book your tour before your hotel. Tours sell out weeks ahead in summer and they dictate your schedule more than your hotel location does.

Is Wahweap Marina worth the extra cost compared to staying downtown Page?

Only if the lake is the main point of your trip. Wahweap adds 60 to 90 dollars per night over comparable downtown rooms. You get a real lake view and a five-minute walk to boat rentals and Rainbow Bridge tour departures. If your itinerary is Antelope Canyon plus Horseshoe Bend with a short boat cruise, stay on the boulevard. If you booked a full day on the water or a houseboat, Wahweap makes sense.

How far is Page, Arizona from the Grand Canyon South Rim?

About 130 miles and two and a half hours by car via Highway 89 South through Cameron. The two parks are separate trips. Page is the base for Lake Powell, Antelope Canyon, Horseshoe Bend, and Vermilion Cliffs. Grand Canyon South Rim is better based from Tusayan or Flagstaff. Trying to day-trip between them wastes a full day in the car.

When should you avoid Page, Arizona and which hotels fill up fastest?

Memorial Day through Labor Day is peak season. Temperatures hit 100 to 108 degrees Fahrenheit daily and every hotel on Lake Powell Boulevard fills months ahead. The Courtyard and Hampton Inn sell out fastest, followed by Holiday Inn Express. Spring from March to May is the best window: temperatures in the 70s, good water levels at Lake Powell, and tour availability. Avoid July and August unless you book months ahead and can handle extreme heat with no shade.
