Bingin
Where surfers actually live
Bingin is a scrappy clifftop village above one of Bali's best reef breaks. The main drag is Jalan Pantai Bingin, a narrow road lined with warungs, board rentals, and smoothie bowls. Walk down the steep stone steps and you land on Bingin Beach, packed at low tide and gone at high. Cashew Tree on Thursdays is the social anchor for the nomad crowd. Stay here if you surf or want to be around people who do. The downside: scooter is mandatory, restaurants close early, and the cliff stairs are brutal with luggage. Skip if you want resort polish.
