The City Centre doesn't have the charm of Barri Antic or the convenience of Meritxell, but it's genuinely central. You're 10 minutes from Casa de la Vall and 12 minutes from Caldea. Taxi to the ski bus terminal at Plaça Guillemó costs about €5.

Prices here are the highest in our guide, and we're not going to apologise for that. If you're celebrating something or simply want the best, Hotel Montané and Escaldes-Engordany deliver. Skip it if thermal spas aren't your thing. you'll just be paying a premium for a neighbourhood with less shopping access.
