Book anything on the Ski Area side of town if lift access is your priority. Town Centre hotels are fine for shopping trips and cheaper stays, but the slope-side walk adds up fast over a week. And don't get distracted by duty-free prices on arrival. sort your room first, shop later.

The Grandvalira ski bus: how to get around without a car
The free Grandvalira shuttle connects Pas de la Casa, Grau Roig, El Tarter, Soldeu, and Canillo during ski season. It runs roughly every 30-45 minutes from early morning until the lifts close. Pick-up points in Pas de la Casa are near the main gondola station and at the Carrer de les Abelletes bus stop by the sports shops.
