Hostal Don Tomas
Don Tomas is a restored colonial house on Calle Llano in the center of Sancti Spiritus, about 70 kilometers from Trinidad. The building dates to the 18th century and the thick stone walls keep the interior noticeably cooler than the street. Rooms are individually decorated with antique furniture and original tile floors. The staff runs the place with real attention to detail and the patio garden is a quiet spot in the afternoons. Sancti Spiritus is undervisited compared to Trinidad and this makes a good base for exploring both.

Hotel Ordono sits in the Punta Gorda peninsula of Cienfuegos, a two-hour drive west of Trinidad.
