The Coral Coast runs along Fiji's main island of Viti Levu, hugging the Queen's Highway from just past Sigatoka all the way toward Pacific Harbour. Most first-timers land at Nadi Airport and assume everywhere is close. It's not: Natadola is 35km from Nadi, Korolevu is 80km, and those mountain roads take longer than Google suggests.
Book into Korotogo or Korolevu Beach if you want easy access to food, the beach, and day trips. Sigatoka Sand Dunes National Park is 15 minutes by car from Korotogo, and the Sigatoka River Safari departs from town. Don't base yourself in Sigatoka town itself. it's inland, loud, and the beach is a taxi ride away every single time.
How to pick the right beach for your Coral Coast stay.
Not all Coral Coast beaches are equal. Natadola Beach near Natadola Bay is the standout: long, white sand, calm swimming water, and no reef to navigate. Korotogo Beach is convenient and lively but narrower, and the snorkelling off Sunset Strip is patchy. Korolevu Beach is quieter and reef-fringed, better for snorkellers than swimmers.

Useful for short hops between Korotogo and Sigatoka. For anything further. Natadola, Yanuca Island, Pacific Harbour. grab a taxi or pre-arrange a resort transfer.
Hiring a car from Nadi Airport is genuinely worth considering if you're staying a week or more. Rates run around $80-120 FJD/day. It opens up the Sigatoka Valley Road for village visits, and you can reach the Kula Wild Adventure Park in Korotogo without relying on taxis every time.
What the Coral Coast actually costs: a real breakdown.
Budget travellers can do well here. Bedarra Beach Inn starts at $55/night, a beachside meal at a local warung runs $10-18 FJD, and the local bus is rarely more than $5 FJD. Mid-range runs $100-200/night at places like Tambua Sands or The Naviti Resort, where meals, water sports, and activities add another $60-100 FJD/day.
