The Central Bazaar Area around the Jayma Bazaar has a lot of guesthouses that look fine online but smell like damp and charge for WiFi separately. We've seen this mistake hundreds of times. Book through a vetted list and check which floor you're on before arrival.
Hotel Amir at $115-160/night is the one we'd recommend in this zone. It's 3 minutes from the bazaar entrance and well above the neighborhood average on every metric. Request an upper floor room to get above street noise during market hours.
The Silk Road Quarter: Osh's most atmospheric place to stay
The Historic Silk Road Quarter is the oldest continuously trading area in Osh. Streets here are narrow, the architecture is genuinely old, and Marco Polo Hotel Osh at $290-380/night has been designed to match. You're 4 minutes walk from ancient caravan routes that are still active markets today.
It's the most expensive area to stay in Osh. But if you're traveling this part of Central Asia to feel the history rather than just photograph it, this is the only neighborhood that delivers that without trying.

Under $100/night gets you two real options in Osh. Hotel Osh at $45-70/night in the City Center is the cheapest on our list and genuinely functional. Guesthouse Sulaymaniya at $55-85/night in the Sulayman Mountain District adds charm and a better location for the extra $10-15.
Don't go cheaper than these two unless you know exactly what you're booking. Below $40/night in Osh usually means shared bathrooms, inconsistent hot water, and no English-speaking staff. Save the $20 for three proper meals at the chaikhanas near Lenin Street instead.

This is the easiest base for first-timers. Hotel Osh covers the budget end at $45-70/night. Hotel Sherali on the Lenin Street Corridor itself hits the business sweet spot at $130-175/night. And Hyatt Place Osh is the luxury anchor at $255-340/night with city views that nothing else matches.
Street noise is real on lower floors, especially around the central intersections. Ask for a room above floor 3. Taxis are everywhere on Lenin Street and a ride to the Jayma Bazaar runs about 100-150 som.

If you're coming to Osh for Sulayman Mountain, the UNESCO-listed sacred site, staying in this district cuts your morning commute to 5 minutes on foot. Guesthouse Sulaymaniya at $55-85/night is the best value in the area. The streets around here are quieter than the Lenin Street strip but still walkable to everything.

The South Quarter near the Uzbek Market is a completely different vibe: loud, food-obsessed, and buzzing with cross-border Uzbek-Kyrgyz culture. Hotel Fergana Osh at $160-210/night is the base here. The plov, the bread, and the tea culture in this part of Osh are the best reasons to stay on this side of the city.
Both areas are 15-20 minutes walk from Sulayman Mountain, or about a 70-100 som taxi ride. That's the only real drawback. But for food and atmosphere, nothing else in Osh competes.

Osh is a loud city from 7am onward, especially near the Jayma Bazaar and Lenin Street.
