The Marina is the easiest base in Cabo, full stop. You can walk to El Arco boat tours, decent tacos on Calle Zapata, and the main nightlife strip on Paseo de la Marina all within 10 minutes. Cabo Inn Hotel sits right in this zone and earns its $105-160/night price tag purely on location.
One mistake we see constantly: people book a Marina-view room expecting silence. Don't. The sportfishing fleet departs noisily from 6am, and the bar boats run past midnight on weekends. Bring earplugs or book a room facing inland. you still get the convenience without the 5am wake-up call.
El Medano Beach: where to stay if the beach is everything
El Medano is the only swimmable beach right in Cabo, and staying on it changes your trip. Bungalows Hotel, Bahia Hotel and Beach Club, and Cabo Villas all sit within a 5-minute walk of each other along the same stretch of sand off Paseo del Pescador. Prices here run $120-340/night, but you're saving on taxis since you'll walk everywhere.
The western end near Bahia Hotel faces El Arco directly. that's the money view at sunset. Book a room on the second floor or higher for an unobstructed sightline. And skip the beach vendors who'll approach your sunlounger every 10 minutes. A firm 'no gracias' once usually does it.
