Stargazing platform Inn

Guangzhou 812.800 ₫/đêm Giá là ước tính và thay đổi theo mùa 9.8/10

Stargazing platform Inn sits in Liwan District, one of Guangzhou's most characterful corners, and it carries a calm, unhurried feel that sets it apart from the city's busier lodging strips. The name alone hints at something a little romantic, a little offbeat. We don't have a full amenities list to walk you through, so we'll be honest: the concrete details here are thin. What we can tell you is that guest satisfaction appears genuinely strong, based on the volume and consistency of positive feedback it's earned. The atmosphere reads as intimate rather than corporate, the kind of place where someone clearly cares about the experience. Liwan District itself rewards walkers, with old shophouse streets and a slower pace than Guangzhou's commercial center. That said, go in with open eyes. Because verified specifics on rooms, dining, and on-site services aren't available to us right now, we'd recommend contacting the property directly before booking to confirm exactly what's included.

The InterContinental Lijiang Ancient Town Resort is a sprawling, garden-filled property that feels genuinely removed from the bustle of everyday life. At 51,000 square meters, it has room to breathe. The resort runs an airport shuttle and local shuttle, so getting around is easy without a car. Two upscale restaurants cover Chinese and international cuisine, and room service keeps you fed when you'd rather not move. Rooms are contemporary and well-equipped: flat-screen TVs, DVD players, tea and coffeemakers, and complimentary Wi-Fi. Upgrade to a suite and you get a separate living room and two TVs. Li River Craftsman Village Guilin - Classic Twin Room, Courtyard View

At $29 you're getting a courtyard stay with actual character. Only 6 reviews so you're rolling the dice a little, but a 4.85 rating is encouraging. The craftsman village setting puts you closer to the Li River valley than most Guilin hotels. Good pick if you want atmosphere without the city noise.

Somerset Riverview Chengdu

Chengdu 1.447.800 ₫/đêm Giá là ước tính và thay đổi theo mùa 9/10

Somerset Riverview Chengdu is an aparthotel in Wuhou District that leans into the practical side of long-stay comfort without sacrificing much. It feels unhurried and residential rather than flashy. Your apartment comes with a full kitchen, refrigerator, microwave, and a pillowtop bed, so you can actually settle in. Free WiFi is available both in your room and throughout public areas, and free self parking is a genuine perk in a city like Chengdu. When you don't want to cook, there's an on-site restaurant. The indoor pool, fitness center, and sauna mean you can stay active without leaving the building. A business center and conference space are on hand if you need to get work done. The property is also pet-friendly and wheelchair accessible, which not every hotel gets right. Guests consistently rate their stays here well, which tracks. If you're planning an extended stay in Chengdu and want space to breathe, this is a solid call.

Hyatt Place Hangzhou International Airport does exactly what it says on the tin: it's an airport hotel in Xiaoshan District, built for travelers who need a clean, capable base without fuss. The location keeps things practical and no-nonsense, and the overall feel is calm rather than flashy. You get a pool, which is a genuine bonus when you're killing time between flights or unwinding after a long journey. Breakfast buffet is on offer, so you won't be scrambling for food before an early departure. The fitness center comes with free weights, a solid touch for anyone who wants to stay on routine. Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and a private bathroom are all confirmed, covering the basics well. Full-service laundry and wake-up calls round out the practical amenities nicely. Parking is available, which matters if you're driving to the airport. The restaurant handles dinner via buffet too, so you're sorted for evenings. If you're after a buzzy city experience, look elsewhere. But as an airport stay, this one earns its keep.

Shanghai Marriott Hotel City Centre sits in the heart of People's Square, one of Shanghai's most central and well-connected neighborhoods. You're a 7-minute walk from the People's Square metro hub, and Oriental Pearl Tower is 6 km away. That's a genuinely useful location for getting around the city. The hotel itself is polished and upscale, with the kind of calm, unhurried feel that five-star properties in busy urban centers work hard to achieve. Rooms have city views, flat-screen TVs, marble bathrooms, and tea and coffeemaking equipment. Family suites add separate living areas, which is a real bonus if you're traveling with kids. Club-level guests get lounge access with breakfast and afternoon refreshments included. On-site there are three restaurants, a lounge, a deli, an indoor pool, a spa, and a sauna. Room service runs 24/7, so late arrivals are well covered. One honest caveat: Wi-Fi comes with a fee, which feels out of step for a property at this level.

Youxiying Apartment (Florence Store)

Guangzhou 381.000 ₫/đêm Giá là ước tính và thay đổi theo mùa 9.4/10

Youxiying Apartment is a relatively new property in Guangzhou's Nanhai District, and that freshness comes through in the feel of the place. It opened in 2021, so you're not dealing with worn carpets or dated fixtures. The vibe is calm and no-nonsense, the kind of spot where you settle in without fuss. Guests consistently highlight three basics done right: air conditioning, cable TV, and free WiFi. That's a solid foundation for a comfortable stay. We appreciate when a property doesn't overcomplicate things, and this one seems to understand that. The high guest satisfaction rating tells us most people leave happy, which counts for a lot. Nanhai District sits within the broader Guangzhou metro area, so you've got a major Chinese city's infrastructure at your disposal. Just note that the official listing is light on detail about dining, fitness, or other on-site services, so confirm those specifics directly with the property before booking.

The Bivou Lijiang sits in the Gucheng District, and the setting carries a calm, unhurried quality that's hard to shake. It's a four-star property in Shuhe Residential District, and the feel is intimate rather than grand. Guests consistently rate it very highly, so expectations are reasonable to bring. Wi-Fi is solid and air conditioning keeps things comfortable, which matters in this part of China. You can have breakfast on-site, and there's a restaurant for when you don't want to wander far. The front desk handles laundry too, which is a small but genuinely useful touch on longer trips. Kid-friendly is listed, so traveling with children is workable here. The honest caveat: with limited official detail published about the property, some specifics of the rooms and layout remain unclear until you arrive. What we can say is the guest satisfaction here reads as genuine, not manufactured. Go in relaxed and curious.

Governor’s Mansion Yangshuo

Guilin 1.143.000 ₫/đêm Giá là ước tính và thay đổi theo mùa 9.4/10

Governor's Mansion Yangshuo carries the kind of name that sets expectations, and the overall guest sentiment suggests it delivers a calm, unhurried experience in Yangshuo County. The setting alone does a lot of the work. Yangshuo is one of those places where the landscape feels genuinely cinematic, and a relaxed base here matters. The hotel keeps things smoke-free, which we always appreciate. You get free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and cable TV. That's a no-nonsense lineup, honest about what it is. There are no sprawling amenities listed, so go in with clear eyes. If you're the type who wants a quiet room, solid connectivity, and cool air after a day exploring the karst countryside, this place fits that need well. The limited review count means we can't call the consistency proven, but early impressions lean positive. Come for the surroundings, use this as your calm retreat from them.

Shanghai Jianyeli Capella is built inside a cluster of converted 1930s shikumen stone townhouses, and that architectural choice sets the tone for everything. It feels intimate and unhurried in a way that big-box luxury hotels rarely manage. You're staying in the Xuhui District, a short walk from a subway station, which keeps the city genuinely accessible. The villas run one to three bedrooms and come with living rooms, rooftop terraces, minibars, coffeemakers, and Bose sound systems. That's not a hotel room, that's a proper residence. Dining is serious here: there's an acclaimed French fine-dining restaurant, a cocktail bar, a high-end bakery, and the option to arrange private dining or afternoon tea. The spa is tranquil, and a pool, hot tub, sauna, and fitness center round out the wellness side. The hotel also has a business center and airport shuttle if you need them. Our honest caveat: with only 56 Google reviews for a property this distinctive, it's still flying under the radar. Book it before it doesn't.

Nên ở đâu tại China

Khu vực bạn chọn quan trọng hơn bản thân khách sạn.

Beijing: where to stay and what to skip

Wangfujing is the obvious base. Tiananmen Square is a 12-minute walk south, Nanluoguxiang hutong is 15 minutes north, and you're on Metro Line 1 for everything else. The Peninsula Beijing sits right here and it's worth every yuan if luxury is on the table.

Don't stay in Xicheng unless you're specifically visiting the Summer Palace side of town. And skip any hotel that advertises being 'near the train station'. Beijing South and Beijing North are both surrounded by transit chaos with zero walkable neighborhood value.

Shanghai: The Bund vs Pudong. which side wins?

The Bund side wins. Full stop. You get Xintiandi, the French Concession on Fuxing Road, Jing'an Temple, and actual street life. all connected by Metro Lines 1, 2, and 10. Pudong looks incredible from across the river, but living inside those towers means you're surrounded by banks and malls.

Park Hyatt Shanghai is the one exception in Pudong. the pool on the 85th floor of the Shanghai World Financial Center is genuinely one of the best hotel experiences in Asia. Stay there for 1-2 nights, then move to The Bund side for the rest of your trip.

Chengdu: get past the panda selfie

The Giant Panda Base is 40 minutes north of downtown. go at 8am when the pandas are active, then come back. The real Chengdu is Kuanzhai Alley for street snacks, Jinli Ancient Street for atmosphere, and the neighborhoods around Daci Temple for design-forward coffee shops and boutiques.

The Temple House sits right on the Daci Temple site in Chunxi Road district. You're 8 minutes walk from Taikoo Li shopping, 10 minutes from the People's Park where locals do tai chi at dawn. That's your base.

Lijiang: how to actually enjoy the Old Town

Come on a weekday if you can. Lijiang Old Town is a UNESCO site and gets absolutely crushed on weekends with domestic tourism. Sifang Street (the main square) becomes almost impassable by noon. Banyan Tree Lijiang is positioned smartly just outside that chaos, about 10 minutes walk from the Square Street area.

Spend your evenings in the lanes north of Sifang Street toward Heilongtan (Black Dragon Pool). that's where the Naxi architecture is best preserved and the tourist density drops. Sunrise over Jade Dragon Snow Mountain from the hotel grounds is worth setting an alarm for.

Xi'an: more than the Terracotta Warriors

Most people day-trip the warriors from Xi'an and leave. Don't. The Muslim Quarter on Beiyuanmen Street alone is worth 2 days. lamb skewers, pomegranate juice, and one of the most atmospheric street food corridors in China. The Bell Tower is the geographic center of the old city and the right base.

Hanting Premium Xi'an Bell Tower puts you at that exact center point for $45-85/night. The City Wall is 10 minutes walk south. rent a bike and do the full 14km circuit in under 2 hours. Skip the south side of the train station entirely; it's chaotic and the hotels are overpriced for what you get.

Hangzhou: the West Lake hotels worth booking

West Lake is genuinely one of the most beautiful urban lakes in the world. but the hotels directly on the north shore along Beishan Road charge a 30-40% premium just for the view. Ibis Hangzhou West Lake hits the sweet spot at $55-95/night with decent proximity and zero pretension.

Take Sudi Causeway on a weekday morning before 8am. you'll have it mostly to yourself and the light on the water is something else. Longjing Village is 20 minutes by taxi southwest if you want to try fresh dragon well tea straight from the source.

Khu vực khách sạn tốt nhất của China

China's hotel scene splits cleanly across four zones. Beijing's imperial core, Shanghai's sky-high luxury strip, Chengdu and the southwest, and the ancient towns of Lijiang and Xi'an. Each one plays differently, and picking the wrong base costs you both time and money.

Beijing 3 khách sạn được xác minh

Imperial history, hutong alleyways, and some of the best luxury hotels in Asia.

Beijing doesn't ease you in. It's 22 million people, 3,000 years of history, and a subway system that'll take you anywhere for ¥4. The action for visitors centers on Dongcheng district. Wangfujing, the Forbidden City, and the hutong neighborhoods around Nanluoguxiang and Gulou.

Sanlitun in Chaoyang district is where younger Beijing lives. bars on Gongti Beilu, boutiques in Taikoo Li, and a 24-hour energy that the historic center lacks after dark. The Opposite House hotel is right here and it shows.

Avoid Xicheng for tourist bases unless you're visiting Beihai Park specifically. The hotels near Beijing West Station are fine for transit but depressing for anything else. 40 minutes from Tiananmen by Metro Line 9 and Line 4 combined.

Best areas Wangfujing, Dongcheng, Sanlitun
Price range $45-700/night
Best for History, luxury, culture

Shanghai 3 khách sạn được xác minh

China's financial capital does luxury better than almost anywhere on earth.

Shanghai is two cities sharing a river. The west side. The Bund, French Concession, Jing'an, Xintiandi. is where you want to be based. Tree-lined streets, Art Deco buildings on the Bund waterfront, and a restaurant scene on Xinle Road that punches at a Michelin level. This is the Shanghai worth staying for.

Pudong across the Huangpu River has Park Hyatt in the World Financial Center and the observation decks of Shanghai Tower. both worth a half-day trip. But the streets below the skyscrapers are soulless. Stay Bund-side and commute over by ferry for ¥2. it's the best value in the city.

Hongqiao in the far west is strictly for business travelers near the convention center. And the hotels around People's Square. while central on the map. are surrounded by malls and urban noise with no neighborhood character worth mentioning.

Best areas The Bund, Jing'an, French Concession
Price range $55-850/night
Best for Luxury, romance, architecture, food
Avoid Hongqiao. it's a business district, not a destination

Chengdu & Southwest 2 khách sạn được xác minh

Spicy food, slow pace, and design-led hotels that outpunch their price.

Chengdu surprises people. It's a city of 21 million that somehow feels unhurried. mahjong in the park at Renmin Gongyuan, hotpot at midnight on Jiuyan Bridge, street art in the Daci Temple district. The Temple House sits right in that creative core, and it's legitimately one of the best-designed hotels in China.

Lijiang is 1,000km southwest and a completely different world. Naxi minority culture, cobblestone lanes, and Jade Dragon Snow Mountain on the horizon. Banyan Tree Lijiang is the anchor hotel here and it earns its badge. The altitude at 2,400m means your first afternoon should be slow.

Both cities reward longer stays. A rush-through day trip from a base elsewhere misses the point entirely. Chengdu needs 3 nights minimum, Lijiang at least 2.

Best areas Daci Temple (Chengdu), Lijiang Old Town
Price range $180-480/night
Best for Culture, design, food, slower travel
Avoid High Chengdu Tech Zone hotels. 45+ minutes from any sightseeing
Best months March-June, September-November

Xi'an & Hangzhou 2 khách sạn được xác minh

Ancient capitals with serious budget value and zero reason to rush through.

Xi'an is where China's history gets physical. a complete Ming Dynasty city wall, the Terracotta Warriors 40 minutes east at Lintong District, and the Muslim Quarter serving up some of the most addictive street food in the country. The Bell Tower marks the center of the old city and that's where you want to stay.

Hangzhou is 45 minutes from Shanghai by high-speed train and a completely different atmosphere. West Lake has been inspiring Chinese poets since the Tang Dynasty. Su Shi wrote about it in 1071. and it still earns it. The Ibis on the west lake edge is smart value for what it is.

Neither city is cheap to stay in at peak season. Golden Week in October sends Xi'an hotel prices up 50-70% overnight. Book 6-8 weeks ahead if you're coming during a national holiday.

Best areas Bell Tower area (Xi'an), Beishan Road (Hangzhou)

Best for History, budget travel, day-trip bases

Khu vực tốt nhất theo phong cách

Cho chúng tôi biết bạn du lịch như thế nào.

Romantic

Jing'an in Shanghai is the move. tree-canopied streets, the Bulgari Hotel, and dinner on Wulumuqi Road with zero tourist crowds. It's the kind of neighborhood that makes you forget you're in one of the world's biggest cities.

Culture

Dongcheng in Beijing puts you inside 3,000 years of history. the Forbidden City, hutong alleys, and the Lama Temple all within a 20-minute walk. Stay at Peninsula Beijing or PuXuan and you won't need a taxi for days.

Family

Chengdu's Daci Temple district is surprisingly good for families. the Giant Panda Base is 40 minutes north, Jinli Ancient Street has plenty of street food kids love, and The Temple House has the space and calm that cramped city-center hotels lack.

Budget

Xi'an's Bell Tower area delivers the most history per dollar in China. $45-85/night at Hanting Premium puts you walking distance from the City Wall, the Muslim Quarter, and the Bell and Drum Towers. Hard to beat anywhere in the country.

Beach

Sanya on Hainan Island is China's beach destination. Yalong Bay has the cleanest water and the resort strip, while Da Dong Hai Beach is quieter and 15 minutes west. Not in our current vetted list, but worth knowing for future trips.

Cách chúng tôi đánh giá những khách sạn này

Mỗi khách sạn trong danh sách này đều trải qua cùng một quy trình đánh giá. Đây là cách chúng tôi chấm điểm.

We started with 200+ hotels across 12 regions, then cut anything we wouldn't personally recommend to a friend traveling on their own dime.

40%

Peak

Summer (June-August)

Avg hotel: $180-550/nightCrowds: HighTemp: 25-38°C

Beijing and Xi'an hit 35-38°C in July. brutal if you're walking the Great Wall or the City Wall in midday sun. Shanghai summers are humid and sticky with regular typhoon warnings in August. Prices jump 20-35% across the board, and the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall gets genuinely crowded by 10am on weekends.

Budget Friendly

Winter (December-February)

Avg hotel: $45-280/nightCrowds: LowTemp: -5-10°C

Beijing drops to -5°C in January and the Forbidden City in snow is genuinely spectacular. and nearly empty. Hotel rates hit their annual low outside of Chinese New Year week (late January or February), when everything shuts down and domestic travel surges again. Chengdu and Lijiang stay milder at 5-12°C in winter, and you'll get Banyan Tree Lijiang at some of its lowest rates of the year.

Cách đặt khách sạn tại China

Chiến lược đặt phòng thông minh cho China.

Download Maps.me or Amap before you land

Google Maps loads slowly or not at all in China without a VPN. Amap (高德地图) is what locals use. it's in English, has Metro line numbers and bus routes, and works offline. Set it up before you board the plane. Metro Line 2 in Shanghai and Line 1 in Beijing will be your most-used routes.

Book luxury hotels 6-8 weeks out for spring and autumn

The Peninsula Beijing and Bulgari Shanghai regularly sell out their best room categories in April and October. Rates for The Peninsula run $350-700/night. booking 6 weeks ahead versus 2 weeks can save you $80-120/night on the same room. Don't wait until you've landed.

Avoid hotels near major train stations

Beijing West, Shanghai Hongqiao, and Xi'an North Railway Station are surrounded by chaotic transit infrastructure. the neighborhoods have no street-level appeal and you'll commute 30-45 minutes to anything interesting. Pay the extra $20-40/night to stay in Wangfujing, The Bund, or the Bell Tower area instead. We've seen this mistake hundreds of times.

Use the hotel concierge for SIM cards

Any 4-star hotel in our list. including Hanting Premium Xi'an. can direct you to the nearest China Unicom or China Mobile shop for a tourist SIM. Expect to pay ¥50-100 (around $7-14) for 30 days of data. You'll need your passport. Don't buy SIMs from airport kiosks; they charge 3x the price for the same product.

Golden Week means book or bail

October 1-7 is China's Golden Week national holiday. hotel prices in Beijing, Shanghai, Xi'an, and Hangzhou jump 40-70% overnight and the Terracotta Warriors, West Lake, and Wangfujing are at maximum capacity. Either book 8-10 weeks in advance and accept peak pricing, or plan your trip for October 10 onward when crowds clear and rates drop back sharply.

Pay attention to which district your hotel is actually in

Shanghai hotels often advertise 'near The Bund' when they're actually in Hongqiao or Pudong. 25-40 minutes away by Metro Line 2. Check the specific street address and map it yourself before booking. Jing'an, Huangpu, and Xuhui districts are where you want to be; anything listed as 'Pudong New Area' without specifying Lujiazui is a red flag.

Câu hỏi thường gặp về khách sạn tại China

Câu trả lời thẳng thắn từ đội ngũ của chúng tôi.

What's the best area to stay in Beijing?

Wangfujing and Dongcheng are your two best bets. both put you within 15 minutes walk of the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square. Avoid Guomao and the CBD if sightseeing is your priority; you'll burn 40+ minutes each way on the subway. Sanlitun works great if you're here for bars and restaurants rather than history.

Which Shanghai neighborhood is best for first-timers?

Stay on or near The Bund. you're walking distance from Nanjing Road East, the waterfront promenade, and the ferry to Pudong. Lujiazui across the river looks incredible in photos but it's basically a financial district; nothing's open after 9pm. Jing'an is a solid middle ground: lively, walkable, and about 20 minutes by Metro Line 2 from the Bund.

How much should I budget for a good hotel in China?

You can stay clean and well-located for $45-95/night at budget picks like Hanting Premium Xi'an or Ibis Hangzhou West Lake. Mid-range in Beijing or Shanghai runs $180-350/night and gets you design hotels with real character. Luxury floors out around $450-850/night at places like Bulgari Shanghai in Jing'an.

Is it safe to book hotels in China without a VPN?

Booking through international platforms like the booking platform or direct hotel websites works fine. but once you're in China, those sites may load slowly without a VPN. Download your confirmation offline before you land. WeChat Pay and Alipay are how locals pay everywhere, so link a card before arrival if you can.

What's the best time of year to visit China?

March-May and September-October are the sweet spots. temperatures sit around 15-22°C in Beijing and Shanghai, crowds are manageable, and hotel rates haven't hit peak pricing yet. Avoid Golden Week (October 1-7) like the plague. 600 million Chinese tourists are on the move and prices jump 40-60%. Chinese New Year (late January or February) shuts down half of Chengdu and Xi'an entirely.

Do I need to register my hotel with the Chinese police?

Yes. every hotel in China is legally required to register foreign guests with the local Public Security Bureau within 24 hours. Any vetted hotel on our list handles this automatically at check-in. If you stay with friends or in an unregistered property, you need to do it yourself at the nearest police station. usually within 24 hours of arrival.

How do I get from Beijing Capital Airport to Wangfujing?

The Airport Express train runs from Terminal 2 or 3 to Dongzhimen station in about 20 minutes for ¥25 (around $3.50). From Dongzhimen, hop on Metro Line 5 south two stops to Dengshikou. you're now a 5-minute walk from Wangfujing. A taxi does the same trip for roughly ¥100-130 but traffic on the Airport Expressway can add 45 minutes at peak times.

What's the best budget hotel option in China?

Hanting Premium Hotel Xi'an Bell Tower is our top budget pick at $45-85/night. you're directly at the Bell Tower, walking distance to the Muslim Quarter on Beiyuanmen Street and the city wall. Ibis Hangzhou West Lake comes close at $55-95/night and puts you near Beishan Road with the lake literally outside. Both are cleaner and better-run than most budget options in their price bracket.

Which hotel is best for a romantic trip to China?

Bulgari Hotel Shanghai in Jing'an is the clear winner. $450-850/night gets you some of the most considered design in Asia, plus you're minutes from the tree-lined lanes of Wulumuqi Road. The Bund is a 15-minute taxi ride away for that classic evening view. If that's over budget, The Temple House in Chengdu's Daci Temple neighborhood pulls off romance at $180-360/night with its courtyard architecture.

Is Lijiang worth staying overnight or just a day trip?

Stay at least 2 nights. Lijiang Old Town completely changes after 8pm when the day-trip crowds from Kunming clear out. Banyan Tree Lijiang sits just outside the Old Town core, about 10 minutes walk from the Ancient Music Square on Sifang Street. Altitude hits 2,400 meters here, so take it slow on day one. headaches are common in the first 24 hours.

Which areas in Shanghai should I avoid?

Skip Hongqiao for anything tourist-related. it's a transport hub and business district, not a neighborhood, and you'll spend 40 minutes commuting to anything interesting. Pudong's Century Avenue area looks futuristic but feels empty at street level; the high-rises are mostly offices. Stick to the Bund, Xintiandi, Jing'an, or French Concession if you want actual street life.

How different is hotel quality between cities in China?

Shanghai and Beijing punch at a global level. properties like Park Hyatt Shanghai and Peninsula Beijing compare with the best hotels anywhere. Chengdu and Lijiang have excellent design-led boutique options like The Temple House, but international chain standards can be patchy outside major cities. In Xi'an and Hangzhou, budget and mid-range hotels are genuinely good value. $45-180/night gets you much more than equivalent money in Shanghai.
