Nên ở đâu tại Kashan
Khu vực bạn chọn quan trọng hơn bản thân khách sạn.
First time in Kashan? Start here.
Book inside the Old City walls, full stop. The streets around Alavi, Darb-e Mesri, and the lanes behind the Sultan Amir Ahmad Bathhouse put you within walking distance of everything that makes Kashan worth the trip. Anywhere outside that zone and you're adding taxis to every single outing.
Budget $130-190/night for a proper heritage experience on your first visit. The jump from a $50 guesthouse to a genuine courtyard house is significant. painted Qajar plasterwork, fountains, and breakfasts that take 45 minutes to eat properly. We've seen first-timers regret saving $80/night when they realize what they missed.
The Old City: what to actually know before you book
The Old City covers a surprisingly compact area between the covered bazaar, Agha Bozorg Mosque, and the Sultan Amir Ahmad Bathhouse. Walking from the bathhouse to Borujerdi Historical House takes about 8 minutes on foot. Everything worth seeing is basically on the same stroll.
Not all 'Old City' listings are equal. Some hotels use the label but sit on the modern commercial streets near Motahhari Square, a 20-minute walk from the historic core. Check that the address puts you on or near Alavi Street or inside the old bazaar lanes. that's your reference point.
Kashan's luxury hotels: yes, they're worth it
Sultan Amir Ahmad Grand Hotel and Laleh Kandovan Hotel are not overpriced for what they deliver. These are destination hotels. The Sultan Amir Ahmad property sits in the Old City and its rates ($290-420/night) include the kind of architectural detail. original carved stucco, wind towers, central pools. that a renovation budget can't fake.
Laleh Kandovan in the City Center runs $260-350/night and earns a 9.2 rating for good reason. If you're coming to Kashan for a milestone trip, don't apologize for spending at this level. It's a fraction of what equivalent boutique heritage hotels cost in Marrakech or Jaipur.
Fin neighborhood: the underrated base for families
The Fin district sits about 6 km southwest of the historic center, right beside Fin Garden, one of the oldest surviving Persian gardens in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It's quieter than the Old City, parking is easier, and kids have actual outdoor space to move around in.
Karimi Hotel Kashan is the only property on our list based here, at $120-170/night. Fin Garden itself opens at 8am and the morning light through the cypress alleys is genuinely stunning. get there before 9am before the tour groups arrive from Isfahan.
How to handle the Norouz rush (Persian New Year)
Persian New Year (Norouz) falls on the spring equinox, around March 20-21, and it's the biggest domestic travel period in Iran. Kashan fills up fast. Old City heritage hotels are essentially fully booked 3-4 months in advance for the week of Norouz and the following 10-day holiday period.
Prices during Norouz are 40-60% higher than standard rates across all price brackets. If your dates overlap with March 20 to April 1, either book immediately or shift your trip. The city is genuinely magical during Norouz but the crowds around the Sultan Amir Ahmad Bathhouse and Fin Garden are serious.
Budget traveler? Here's what's actually worth it in Kashan.
Ehsan Traditional Guesthouse in the Old City at $45-75/night is solid. It's not a five-star renovation, but it's a real courtyard building, the location near the historic bazaar lanes is walkable, and the breakfast is included. Parsian Safavid Hotel in the City Center is a step up in comfort at $70-99/night with a 7.9 rating.
The real budget mistake we see is travelers spending $50/night near the bus terminal to save money and then spending that $50 on daily taxis into the historic center. Base yourself inside the Old City perimeter even if it costs $20 more. you'll actually walk everywhere and use Kashan the way it's meant to be used.
Khu vực khách sạn tốt nhất của Kashan
The Old City is where you should base yourself. Fin and Darb-e Jafary are solid alternatives, but nothing beats sleeping inside a 200-year-old courtyard house on Alavi Street.

The Old City is Kashan at its finest. The lanes around Alavi Street and the Sultan Amir Ahmad Bathhouse are lined with mud-brick walls that hide extraordinary interiors. carved plasterwork, painted ceilings, multi-level courtyards with central pools. Four of our ten vetted hotels sit here, spanning $45-420/night.
You'll walk everywhere from a good Old City hotel. The covered bazaar is 8 minutes on foot, Agha Bozorg Mosque is 6 minutes, Borujerdi House is 10 minutes. Fin Garden is the one exception: it's a 25-minute walk or a quick 60,000 IRR taxi ride.
The area near Motahhari Square marks the eastern edge of the historic zone. hotels there are technically 'Old City' by postal address but a 15-minute walk from the real action. Always verify proximity to the Sultan Amir Ahmad Bathhouse as your anchor point.

Darb-e Mesri is a traditional residential quarter just off the Old City's western edge. It feels quieter than the main tourist lanes but it's not isolated. the entrance to the covered bazaar is a 7-minute walk, and the Sultan Amir Ahmad Bathhouse is about 10 minutes on foot.
Manouchehri House is the flagship property here, at $130-190/night with a 9.1 rating. It's consistently the first recommendation we make for couples and travelers who want something more intimate than a large heritage hotel. The central courtyard breakfast alone is worth the rate.
There's no real downside to this neighborhood beyond the fact that it's slightly less central than Alavi Street. That's barely a criticism. If you want the least touristy version of a genuinely historic Kashan stay, Darb-e Mesri is it.

The Historic District and Darb-e Jafary sit immediately adjacent to the Old City and are essentially extensions of it. Darb-e Jafary gives the Negin Darb-e Jafary Hotel its name and its location is genuinely excellent. the badge 'Best Location' isn't marketing fluff. You're 8 minutes walk from the bazaar entrance on the northern side.
Saraye Ameriha Boutique Hotel in the Historic District is the most popular property on our entire list, rated 9.0 and running $150-220/night. It's built inside the sprawling Ameriha Mansion complex, and the property itself is a tourist attraction in Kashan. locals visit the public sections of the building even without staying.
Both neighborhoods are walkable to the same landmarks as the Old City. Prices in the Historic District reflect the premium amenities. If Old City courtyard hotels are full, this is where you look first. not City Center.

Fin is the neighborhood immediately surrounding Fin Garden, 6 km southwest of the Old City. It's peaceful, green, and genuinely relaxing. Karimi Hotel Kashan is here at $120-170/night with a family-friendly setup and easy garden access. The trade-off is that you'll need transport to reach the historic core.
City Center is Kashan's commercial zone along Motahhari and Amir Kabir Boulevards. Parsian Safavid Hotel ($70-99/night) and Laleh Kandovan Hotel ($260-350/night) are both here. an unusual mix. The area is functional and well-connected, but the streets aren't beautiful. Come for the value or the luxury hotel, not the surroundings.
Budget travelers who need reliable Wi-Fi, parking, or modern bathrooms often do better in City Center than in a similarly priced Old City guesthouse. It's a legitimate choice. just go in knowing you're 20-30 minutes walk from the Sultan Amir Ahmad Bathhouse and the bazaar.

Romantic
Darb-e Mesri is the address for couples. Manouchehri House has candlelit courtyard breakfasts and hand-painted Qajar ceilings. it's the kind of place that doesn't need to try.
Culture & History
The Old City lanes between Alavi Street and Agha Bozorg Mosque concentrate more architectural heritage per square meter than almost anywhere in Iran. Stay here, walk everywhere, and you'll never need a tour group.
Family
Fin neighborhood is the right call for families. Karimi Hotel sits 5 minutes walk from Fin Garden, one of the safest and most open UNESCO-listed spaces in the country for kids to roam.
Budget
Ehsan Traditional Guesthouse in the Old City proves you don't need $150/night to sleep inside a real courtyard house. $45-75/night gets you the location and the atmosphere, just with simpler finishes.
Foodie
The covered bazaar and the tea houses around Sultan Amir Ahmad Bathhouse are the real Kashan food scene. grab koofteh (herb meatballs) and bastani (Persian ice cream) from the stalls on Bazaar-e Bozorg before the lunch rush hits.
Luxury
Sultan Amir Ahmad Grand Hotel in the Old City is the city's finest address. a 9.4-rated property inside a restored historic mansion where $290-420/night buys architectural authenticity that no new-build can replicate.
We reviewed 8,000+ options across the main regions of Kashan. We cut anything with misleading courtyard photos that turn out to be storage areas, guesthouses that call themselves 'traditional' but installed drop ceilings over original painted plasterwork, and mid-range hotels charging Old City prices while sitting on the ring road near the bus terminal. Hotels near Kashan Interchange were almost entirely cut. the location sounds central but it's a 35-minute walk from Fin Garden and the rooms smell like diesel.

Khi nào nên đến Kashan
Giá khách sạn, mức độ đông đúc và thời tiết thay đổi theo mùa.
Spring (March-May)
This is Kashan's most spectacular season and its busiest. The rose harvest festival in nearby Qamsar peaks in late May, and Norouz (Persian New Year, March 20-21) sends Old City hotel availability to near zero. Book Manouchehri House or Saraye Ameriha at least 8 weeks out. prices spike 40-50% around Norouz week. Fin Garden is lush, the bazaar is busy, and the weather is about as perfect as Iran gets.
Summer (June-August)
Hot. Genuinely, properly hot. Kashan sits in a desert basin and July afternoons regularly hit 38-40°C. Most domestic tourists avoid it, which means Old City hotels drop 20-30% in price and availability is easy. If you can handle the heat and plan sightseeing before 10am and after 5pm, summer is surprisingly workable. Bring water, wear loose cotton, and book a hotel with a courtyard pool.
Autumn (September-November)
Our favorite time to visit. Temperatures cool into the 15-22°C range by October, the summer crowds are gone, and prices at mid-range heritage hotels drop back to base rates. Saraye Ameriha and Noghli House are both bookable within 2-3 weeks' notice in October. The Old City light in autumn is exceptional for photography around the Sultan Amir Ahmad Bathhouse.
Winter (December-February)
Cold and quiet. Temperatures drop to 2-5°C at night and the Old City lanes feel genuinely atmospheric in the cold. Prices across all categories are at their lowest. $45-75/night budget guesthouses are easy to find, and even Manouchehri House occasionally drops to the lower end of its range. The main risk is occasional rain and one or two days of light snow in January, but most sights stay open year-round.
Mẹo đặt phòng cho Kashan
Chiến lược đặt phòng thông minh cho Kashan.
Verify your hotel's actual address before booking
Several Kashan properties list themselves as 'Old City' or 'Historic District' while sitting on the modern ring road, 20-25 minutes walk from the Sultan Amir Ahmad Bathhouse. Use the bathhouse on Alavi Street as your reference: anything more than 12 minutes walk is not truly central. Check on a map before you pay.
Book Norouz and rose festival dates 6-8 weeks ahead
Old City heritage hotels sell out completely for Norouz (around March 20-21) and for the Qamsar rose festival peak (late May). Manouchehri House and Saraye Ameriha hit full occupancy first. usually 8 weeks out. If you're arriving in that window and haven't booked, move to the Historic District or Darb-e Jafary as your backup, not City Center.
Download Snapp before you land
Snapp is Iran's main ride-hailing app and it works well in Kashan. A trip from the Old City to Fin Garden costs 80,000-150,000 IRR. around $1-2 at current rates. Street taxis exist but prices are negotiated and foreigners often pay 2-3x the local rate. Snapp fixes that problem entirely. Set it up using a local SIM, available at Kashan Railway Station on Shahid Rajaei Boulevard for around 500,000 IRR.
Arrive by train, not bus
Kashan Railway Station is cleaner, calmer, and better located than the main bus terminal on Amir Kabir Boulevard. Trains from Tehran take about 2.5 hours and cost $4-8 one-way. From the station it's a 15-minute taxi into the Old City for roughly 100,000 IRR. The bus terminal is fine but the area around it is dull and a 35-minute walk from anywhere worth seeing.
Dress appropriately from the moment you land
Headscarves for women are required in all public spaces in Kashan, including hotel courtyards that open onto the street. Most heritage hotels have a house rule reminder at check-in. don't treat it as optional. Men should avoid shorts in the bazaar and mosque areas. Pack a light long-sleeved layer regardless of season: the mosques around Agha Bozorg require covered arms year-round.
Eat outside your hotel at least twice
The courtyard breakfasts at Manouchehri House and Saraye Ameriha are genuinely excellent and usually included in the rate. don't skip them. But for other meals, walk to the tea houses and small restaurants near the Sultan Amir Ahmad Bathhouse entrance or inside the covered bazaar. A full lunch of ash reshteh (noodle soup) and fresh bread costs 200,000-400,000 IRR at the stalls inside Bazaar-e Bozorg. That's roughly $2-4.
Khách sạn tại Kashan, câu hỏi thường gặp
Câu trả lời thẳng thắn từ đội ngũ của chúng tôi.
Which neighborhood is best to stay in Kashan?
The Old City, specifically the streets around Alavi and Darb-e Mesri, is the clear winner. You're within 10 minutes walk of the Sultan Amir Ahmad Bathhouse, the Borujerdi House, and the covered bazaar. Fin is quieter and good for families, but you'll need a taxi to reach most sights. budget around 80,000-150,000 IRR per trip.
What's the best time of year to visit Kashan?
March through May is the sweet spot. Temperatures sit around 15-22°C, the rosewater harvest festival runs in late May around the villages of Qamsar and Niasar (30 minutes from the city), and the Old City gardens are at their best. Hotel prices are at their seasonal peak during the rose festival week, so book Old City rooms at least 6 weeks ahead.
How far is Kashan from Isfahan and Tehran?
Tehran is roughly 240 km north. about 2.5 hours by intercity bus or train from Kashan Railway Station on Shahid Rajaei Boulevard. Isfahan is 210 km south, around 2 hours by road. The train is genuinely comfortable and costs around $4-8 one-way, making Kashan an easy day trip from either city or a smart stop between them.
Are Kashan's historic house hotels worth the higher price?
Yes, and we'd argue they're the whole point of coming. Staying in a 19th-century courtyard house on Darb-e Mesri or in the Old City around Alavi Street is a completely different experience from a standard hotel room. The gap between a mid-range guesthouse ($45-75/night) and a genuine heritage boutique ($130-220/night) is real. you're paying for original Qajar-era plasterwork, private courtyards, and breakfast served beside a working fountain.
Is Kashan safe for solo travelers and couples?
Kashan is one of the safest cities in Iran for foreign visitors. The Old City around Sultan Amir Ahmad Bathhouse and Alavi Street is well-lit and genuinely welcoming to tourists. Solo women should note that a headscarf is required in all public areas, and most heritage hotels will remind you at check-in. it's not intimidating, just the local norm.
What areas of Kashan should I avoid when booking a hotel?
Skip anything near the main Kashan Bus Terminal on Amir Kabir Boulevard or along the industrial stretches of the outer ring road. These areas are noisy, have no walkable attractions within 30 minutes, and the hotels there tend to be functional truck-stop style lodging that photographs badly. You'll save $15-20/night and lose everything that makes Kashan worth visiting.
Do Kashan hotels serve alcohol?
No. Iran is a dry country and no hotel in Kashan serves alcohol, including the luxury properties. This isn't a Kashan-specific rule. it applies nationwide. Most heritage hotels serve excellent Persian tea, fresh juices, and doogh (a salted yogurt drink) throughout the day, often included in the room rate.
How do I get around Kashan once I'm there?
The Old City, Fin Garden, and the main bazaar are all walkable if you're based in the historic center. Fin Garden is about 25 minutes on foot from the Sultan Amir Ahmad Bathhouse. Snapp (Iran's ride-hailing app) works well in Kashan and a typical city trip costs 50,000-120,000 IRR. The Darb-e Jafary and Darb-e Mesri neighborhoods are both 10-15 minutes walk from the covered bazaar entrance.
What's the price range for hotels in Kashan?
Budget guesthouses in the Old City start around $45-75/night and are perfectly decent. Mid-range heritage hotels run $110-190/night and offer the real courtyard-house experience. Luxury stays at the top two properties on our list go up to $290-420/night, but these are genuinely world-class boutique hotels that belong on any serious traveler's list.
When is the rose festival in Kashan and how does it affect hotel prices?
The Golab-Giri (rosewater distillation) festival runs from mid-May through early June, centered in Qamsar village 35 km from Kashan city center. It's one of the most atmospheric events in Iran and Old City hotel prices spike by 30-50% during peak festival weekends. Book Manouchehri House or Saraye Ameriha at least 8 weeks in advance if your dates fall in that window.
Do I need a visa to visit Kashan?
Most Western passport holders need a visa to enter Iran. Visa-on-arrival is available at Tehran Imam Khomeini Airport for many nationalities, typically costing $30-80 depending on your passport. US, UK, and Canadian citizens have more restricted options and usually need a guided tour arrangement. Check with the Iranian embassy in your country at least 3 months before travel.
What's the best Kashan hotel for a special occasion or honeymoon?
Manouchehri House on Darb-e Mesri is our top pick for couples. The rooms are in a restored Qajar mansion with hand-painted ceilings, the breakfast is served in the central courtyard, and the location is a 5-minute walk from the Sultan Amir Ahmad Bathhouse. Sultan Amir Ahmad Grand Hotel is the step up if budget isn't a concern. it has the highest rating of any property in the city.
