Most domestic tourists avoid it, which means Old City hotels drop 20-30% in price and availability is easy. If you can handle the heat and plan sightseeing before 10am and after 5pm, summer is surprisingly workable. Bring water, wear loose cotton, and book a hotel with a courtyard pool.
Autumn (September-November)
Our favorite time to visit. Temperatures cool into the 15-22°C range by October, the summer crowds are gone, and prices at mid-range heritage hotels drop back to base rates. From the station it's a 15-minute taxi into the Old City for roughly 100,000 IRR. The bus terminal is fine but the area around it is dull and a 35-minute walk from anywhere worth seeing.
Dress appropriately from the moment you land
Headscarves for women are required in all public spaces in Kashan, including hotel courtyards that open onto the street.
