Entebbe International Airport sits about 4 km from Entebbe town centre, just off the Entebbe-Kampala Road. The arrivals hall is small and moves fast once immigration clears. Have your yellow fever certificate ready. they do check.
Airport Zone hotels like Airport Guest House Entebbe are genuinely useful if your connection or onward safari departs early. But if you have a full evening free, a $15 taxi gets you to the Peninsula or Botanical Beach in under 20 minutes. Don't waste a night in a car park-facing room when the lake is that close.

Boda-bodas (motorbike taxis) are the fastest way to move around Entebbe. A ride within town. say, from Kampala Road to Bugonga. costs $1-2 and takes under 10 minutes. Agree on the price before you get on.
Special hire taxis (private cars) charge $5-10 for most Entebbe town trips. The Entebbe-Kampala Road minibus taxis leave from the old taxi park on Kampala Road. And if you're heading to Ngamba Island, the boat departure at Kasenyi Landing Site is the only option. no bridge, no shortcut.

The best local food is clustered around Entebbe market on Kampala Road. Rolex (egg-and-vegetable chapati wraps) from street vendors there cost under $1. For a proper sit-down meal, the restaurants around the Botanical Garden shoreline serve fresh Nile perch from around $8-12.
