Our Story

We started HotelsVetted after one too many trips where we booked a great hotel in the wrong part of town. Beautiful room, terrible location. Too far from attractions, stuck in a tourist trap area, or surrounded by nothing but chain restaurants.

The problem? Most hotel sites focus on the property, not the neighborhood. They'll tell you about thread count and breakfast buffets, but not whether you're staying in a vibrant local area or a soulless district.

So we built the site we wished existed: a guide that answers "where should I stay?" before "which hotel should I book?"

We Research Areas

We spend time in each neighborhood — walking the streets, eating at local spots, talking to residents. We note safety, vibe, walkability, and transit access.

We Vet Hotels

Hotels must meet our standards: 4+ star ratings across major platforms, excellent location scores, and value for money. We check recent reviews for red flags.

We Match Vibes

We tag areas and hotels by travel style — party, romantic, family, budget, culture, beach. Find what fits you, not what's popular.

We Stay Independent

We earn affiliate commissions when you book, but our recommendations are honest. A bad recommendation hurts our reputation more than it helps our revenue.

We don't list every hotel. We curate the best 3-5 options per area at different price points. Less choice paralysis, better decisions.

Neighborhoods change. Hotels decline. We update our guides every 6 months to ensure accuracy and relevance.
