Aruba Harmony Apartments

Downtown, Oranjestad $55–85/night 7.2/10

Simple self-catering apartments located on Wilhelminastraat, a short walk from the main shopping strip and the port. Rooms are basic but clean, with small kitchenettes that make longer stays affordable. The building is older and the decor is dated, but everything works. Staff are helpful and can point you to local grocery stores and bus stops. A solid no-frills option if you plan to spend most of your time at the beach.

Coconut Inn

Noord Village, Noord $75–99/night 7.8/10

This small inn on Noord 31 sits a few minutes drive from Palm Beach and attracts repeat visitors who prefer quiet surroundings over resort crowds. Rooms are compact but tidy, and the small pool area is a good place to unwind in the evening. Breakfast is included and features fresh local fruit. No beach access directly from the property, but the inn provides free bikes for guests. A genuinely friendly spot that punches above its price point.

Built to resemble a Dutch colonial manor, this small hotel on J.E. Irausquin Boulevard sits directly across from Eagle Beach, one of the quietest and most beautiful stretches of sand on the island. The 72 rooms and suites are decorated with warm terracotta tones and wrought iron details. The outdoor pool and garden feel intimate and well maintained. Breakfast at the on-site restaurant is relaxed and generous. A good choice for couples who want character without the mega-resort atmosphere.

Each casita has a full kitchen and private terrace with direct access to a small beach area. The gardens are lush and well kept, and hammocks are strung between the palms. Staff are attentive without being intrusive. Rates here offer significantly more space and privacy than comparable rooms at the big resorts nearby.

#5

Manchebo Beach Resort and Spa

Manchebo Beach, Manchebo Beach $175–240/night 9/10

This adults-only property on Manchebo Beach sits on one of the widest and least crowded sections of Aruba's southwest coast. The 72 suites are spacious, airy, and designed with a relaxed beach house feel. The Ike's Bistro restaurant earns consistent praise for fresh seafood and local flavors. Yoga classes are held on the beach each morning and are open to guests at no extra charge. The overall pace here is slow and unhurried, which is exactly the point.

Druif Beach, Druif Beach $185–249/night 8.1/10

Located on the quiet Druif Beach near the southern end of the island, this all-inclusive resort offers solid value for families and couples who prefer a less hectic beach scene. The property connects to the nearby Tamarijn Aruba resort, doubling the number of restaurants and pools available to guests. Rooms are comfortable and most have direct beach or pool access from the ground floor. Food quality across the five restaurants is better than the average all-inclusive. The beach itself is calm, shallow, and excellent for children.

#7

Tierra del Sol Resort and Country Club

Northern Coast, Malmok $310–520/night 9.1/10

Spread across the rugged northern tip of Aruba near the California Lighthouse, this residential resort offers spacious villa-style accommodations with full kitchens and private terraces overlooking the desert landscape and sea. The 18-hole championship golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones II is the best on the island and draws serious players year-round. The property feels removed from the busy Palm Beach strip, which is a genuine selling point for guests seeking quiet. The community pool area and clubhouse are well maintained and rarely overcrowded. A strong choice for longer stays or groups wanting space and privacy.

This large full-service hotel sits on L.G. Smith Boulevard right at the edge of Oranjestad, giving guests easy access to restaurants, shops, and the ferry to De Palm Island. The casino floor is one of the busiest on the island and draws a lively evening crowd. Rooms are spacious and recently updated, with ocean or city views depending on the floor. The pool deck is large but gets crowded during peak season. A practical and central base for those who want to explore the capital.

Check Availability
Bucuti and Tara Beach Resort hotel interior
#9

Bucuti and Tara Beach Resort

Eagle Beach, Eagle Beach $210–320/night 9.3/10

This adults-only eco-certified resort on Eagle Beach consistently ranks among the top hotels in the Caribbean, and the location on Aruba's most scenic beach explains a lot of that reputation. The 104 rooms and suites are elegantly furnished with wood accents and private balconies overlooking the water. Service is personalized and genuinely attentive without being overbearing. The resort holds a Gold certification for sustainability, and the carbon-neutral operation shows in small thoughtful details throughout the property. Book as far in advance as possible as this property sells out months ahead.

Hyatt Regency Aruba Resort Spa and Casino

Palm Beach, Palm Beach $280–450/night 8.7/10

Situated on J.E. Irausquin Boulevard in the heart of Palm Beach, the Hyatt Regency is one of the premier full-service resorts on the island. The multi-tiered pool complex with waterfalls and a water slide is among the best on Aruba and keeps families and adults equally entertained. The Ruinas del Mar restaurant, built around the remains of an old gold mill, serves high-quality Caribbean cuisine in a genuinely memorable setting. Rooms are well appointed and the spa is large and professionally run. Prices are high but the overall package delivers consistently.

Where to Stay in Aruba

The neighborhood you pick matters more than the hotel. Here's what you need to know.

Eagle Beach vs Palm Beach: Which one is right for you?

Eagle Beach is Aruba's best-kept stretch of sand, full stop. No tower hotels looming over you, no jet ski vendors every 50 meters. Bucuti and Tara Beach Resort and Amsterdam Manor both sit here, and neither overwhelms the beach.

Palm Beach is about 10 minutes north on J.E. Irausquin Boulevard and it's a completely different vibe. You've got the full resort strip, beach bars, water sports, and restaurants like Screaming Eagle and Wilhelmina Park nearby. If you want action within walking distance, Palm Beach wins. But if you flew to Aruba for the beach itself, Eagle Beach is the right call every time.

How to avoid getting burned by 'beachfront' hotel listings

Aruba has a lot of hotels that call themselves beachfront while sitting across a road from the sand. We've seen this mistake hundreds of times. Always check whether 'beach access' means a private beach path or a pedestrian crossing on J.E. Irausquin Boulevard.

The safest bets on our list for true beachfront are Bucuti and Tara Beach Resort and Manchebo Beach Resort on their respective stretches of the southwestern coast. Both have sand right outside the door. For everyone else, ask specifically: 'How many steps from my room to the sand?' If the answer is vague, that's your answer.

The honest guide to Aruba's hotel price brackets

Under $100/night gets you Aruba Harmony Apartments in Oranjestad or Coconut Inn in Noord. Both are solid. You're trading beach proximity for savings. and in Noord's case, you're about 10 minutes from Palm Beach by car. Not bad if you rent a scooter or car.

The $150-250/night bracket is where Aruba really delivers. Boardwalk Boutique Hotel on Palm Beach consistently punches above its price. Manchebo Beach Resort at $175-240/night sits on a quiet stretch of beach that most tourists never find. Above $250 you're looking at Bucuti, the Hyatt on Palm Beach, or Tierra del Sol up near the California Lighthouse. all genuinely worth it, none of them padding the price with nonsense.

When to book Aruba. and when the island fills up fast

Aruba Carnival runs every February and it's legitimately one of the best street festivals in the Caribbean. Gran Parade in Oranjestad draws huge crowds. Book 3-4 months ahead minimum if you want anything on Eagle Beach or Palm Beach during Carnival week. Prices spike hard.

The sweet spot is May through July. Peak season crowds have gone, prices drop to $130-200/night at mid-range hotels, and the trade winds keep temperatures comfortable at 28-30°C. September and October are cheapest at $55-150/night across the board, but it's also when the island is slowest and some restaurants cut hours.

Getting around Aruba without a rental car

The Arubus public bus runs reliably between Oranjestad's terminal on Zoutmanstraat and the Palm Beach hotel strip for $2.50 each way. It covers the main tourist corridor well. But for Arikok National Park, Baby Beach near San Nicolas, or the Natural Pool at Conchi, you need a car or a 4WD jeep tour.

Taxis are always available at the major hotels but they're not metered. Fix the price first. Oranjestad to Palm Beach runs $16-20. Most drivers speak English and many double as informal guides. If you're staying at Tierra del Sol near Malmok, budget $25-30 for a taxi to central Palm Beach. it's worth knowing upfront.

Areas of Aruba to skip (and why)

The stretch of Oranjestad near the cruise ship pier on L.G. Smith Boulevard gets flooded with day-trippers most mornings. It clears out by 5pm, so the area is actually pleasant for dinner. But the overpriced souvenir shops and inflated restaurant prices near the port are a trap. Walk two blocks inland toward Main Street for the real town.

San Nicolas on the southeastern tip is worth a day trip for the street art and the Zeerovers Fish Market. But it's not a hotel base. Infrastructure is limited, beaches nearby aren't in the same league as the west coast, and you'd be 35-40 minutes from Eagle Beach. Stick to the west coast for where you sleep.

Explore Aruba by city

We cover 3 destinations across Aruba. Pick a city for a dedicated hotel guide with neighborhoods, seasonal tips, and our vetted picks.

Aruba's best hotel regions

Eagle Beach is where we'd put our money first. Quieter than Palm Beach, better sand, and two of the highest-rated hotels on this list sit right there.

Eagle Beach 2 vetted hotels

The best beach on the island, and two of the best hotels to match.

Eagle Beach is on Aruba's southwestern coast, about 15 minutes south of the main Palm Beach strip on J.E. Irausquin Boulevard. The sand is wider, the water is calmer, and there's no resort tower blocking your horizon. It's popular with couples and honeymooners who've done their homework.

Two of our top-rated hotels sit right here: Bucuti and Tara Beach Resort at $210-320/night and Amsterdam Manor Boutique Hotel at $130-195/night. That's a big price gap, but both deliver real beachfront access and a quieter atmosphere than anything on Palm Beach.

The downside is that Eagle Beach has fewer restaurants within walking distance compared to Palm Beach. You're looking at a 10-15 minute drive or taxi to the main restaurant strip. Rent a car if you plan to eat out often.

Best areas Eagle Beach shoreline, Low-Rise Hotel Zone
Price range $130-320/night
Best for Couples, honeymooners, beach purists
Avoid If you want walkable nightlife. it's quiet after 9pm
Best months January-April, June-July
Browse all Eagle Beach hotels →
Palm Beach 2 vetted hotels

Aruba's main resort strip. convenient, busy, and better than its reputation.

Palm Beach runs along J.E. Irausquin Boulevard on the northwestern coast and it's where most first-timers end up. The Hyatt Regency, Marriott, and a dozen other big names line this stretch. It's busy, it's lively, and restaurants like Wilhelmina Park and the shops at Palm Beach Plaza are all walkable.

Boardwalk Boutique Hotel Aruba is the insider pick here. 1-2 minutes walk from the sand but set back from the road noise, with cottage-style rooms that feel nothing like a standard hotel. It earns its Best Value badge. The Hyatt at $280-450/night is the obvious splurge, and the casino, pool complex, and beach service genuinely justify the price if you're in that bracket.

The main criticism of Palm Beach is noise and crowds at peak season. If you're visiting during Carnival or the Christmas-New Year week, book Boardwalk well in advance. it sells out faster than the bigger resorts.

Best areas Palm Beach Strip, Noord side streets
Price range $150-450/night
Best for First-timers, couples who want nightlife, luxury travelers
Avoid The very north end of the strip. noise from beach bars runs late
Best months November-April
Browse all Palm Beach hotels →
Manchebo Beach & Druif Beach 2 vetted hotels

Quiet, local, and seriously underrated by everyone who hasn't been.

Manchebo Beach sits just south of Eagle Beach on Aruba's southwestern coast, and most tourists blow right past it heading for Palm Beach. That's a mistake. The beach here is wide and uncrowded, and Manchebo Beach Resort and Spa earns its 9.0 rating with genuinely attentive service and a yoga program that actually delivers.

Druif Beach is a few minutes further south and is home to Divi Aruba All Inclusive. It's calmer and shallower than Palm Beach. good for families and anyone who wants to wade in without fighting waves. The all-inclusive format at $185-249/night makes budgeting straightforward.

Getting to Oranjestad from either beach takes about 15-20 minutes by car. There's no real nightlife locally, which is either a feature or a bug depending on what you're after.

Best areas Manchebo Beach, Druif Beach
Price range $175-249/night
Best for Families, wellness travelers, all-inclusive fans
Avoid If you want restaurants and bars within walking distance
Best months December-April, June-August
Browse all Manchebo Beach & Druif Beach hotels →
Oranjestad & Malmok 3 vetted hotels

The capital's urban buzz and the island's quiet northern tip. for travelers who want something different.

Oranjestad is where Aruba's daily life actually happens. Fort Zoutman, the Wilhelmina Park waterfront, and the colorful Dutch-colonial buildings on Main Street are all here. Aruba Hotel and Casino sits on L.G. Smith Boulevard, about 20 minutes walk from the beach. it's the best option if you're here primarily for the city and the casino, not the sand.

Aruba Harmony Apartments in central Oranjestad is the budget anchor on this list at $55-85/night. Self-catering setup, close to local supermarkets on Caya Betico Croes, and honest about what it is. It's not a beach resort. It's a clean, affordable base for exploring the island by car or bus.

Malmok up on the northern coast is its own world entirely. Tierra del Sol Resort and Country Club sits here near the California Lighthouse with golf, a spa, and villa-style rooms at $310-520/night. It's remote by Aruba standards, about 15-20 minutes from Palm Beach. You need a car. But the northern coast views and the complete absence of crowds are genuinely special.

Best areas L.G. Smith Boulevard, Caya Betico Croes (Oranjestad), California Lighthouse area (Malmok)
Price range $55-520/night
Best for Budget travelers, golfers, cultural explorers, luxury seekers wanting seclusion
Avoid Cruise pier area of Oranjestad during morning hours. it's chaotic
Best months May-July for value, January-March for weather
Browse all Oranjestad & Malmok hotels →
Noord 1 vetted hotel

A local neighborhood with a genuinely good value hotel and zero tourist theater.

Noord is a residential area in the center of Aruba, north of Oranjestad and about 10 minutes by car from both Palm Beach and Eagle Beach. It's where Arubans actually live. The Alto Vista Chapel and Bushiribana Gold Mill Ruins are nearby for a half-day cultural detour.

Coconut Inn is the only hotel on our list here, and it earns its spot at $75-99/night. It's small, genuinely friendly, and the staff know the island well enough to point you toward beaches that aren't on any tourist map. The pool is small but the vibe is easy.

You need a car or scooter to make Noord work as a base. Without wheels, you're stuck. But if you've got transport, you're 10 minutes from some of the best beaches in the Caribbean and paying a fraction of what resorts on the coast charge.

Best areas Noord Village center, roads toward Alto Vista
Price range $75-99/night
Best for Budget travelers, repeat visitors, independent explorers
Avoid Arriving without a rental car. you'll be stranded
Best months April-August for best rates

How We Vetted These Hotels

Every hotel on this list went through the same evaluation. Here's exactly how we score them.

We reviewed 8,000+ options across the main regions of Aruba. A lot got cut fast: resorts passing off interior views as 'ocean view,' all-inclusives padded with filler food and watered-down drinks, and Oranjestad hotels charging Palm Beach prices without the beach. We also cut anything that looked great in 2019 but hasn't kept up. What's left are 10 places we'd actually book.

40%

Location Quality

Is the neighborhood walkable? Are restaurants, shops, and attractions within 10 minutes on foot? How does it feel after dark? We evaluate safety, public transport access, and whether the area has genuine local character or just tourist traps. A hotel in the wrong neighborhood ruins a trip. That's why location carries the most weight.

30%

Value for Money

We compare what you pay against what you get. A €150 hotel with a great location, clean rooms, and helpful staff can outscore a €500 hotel with fancy amenities in a bad area. We factor in seasonal pricing, cancellation policies, and hidden costs like tourist tax and breakfast surcharges. The goal is finding the best ratio, not the lowest price.

30%

Guest Experience

We analyze thousands of verified guest reviews across multiple platforms, looking for patterns rather than individual complaints. Consistent praise for cleanliness, staff, and room quality counts. We also assess the intangibles: does the hotel have character? Would you recommend it to a friend? A soul-less chain hotel with perfect facilities still loses to a well-run boutique with personality.

Hotels that score below 8.0 don't make our list. Hotels can't pay for placement. We update scores every quarter based on new reviews. If a hotel's quality drops, it gets removed. Read more about our approach on the about page.

When to Visit Aruba: Season by Season

Hotel prices, crowds, and weather vary dramatically. Here's what to expect each season.

Peak

Peak Season (Dec-Apr)

Avg hotel: $175-320/nightCrowds: HighTemp: 26-29°C

This is Aruba at its most expensive and most crowded. Christmas-New Year week sees rates spike to $300-450/night at Palm Beach resorts, and Carnival in February books Eagle Beach solid for weeks. The trade winds are steady, temps are perfect, and the island looks its best. Book 3-4 months out minimum if you're targeting this window.

Budget Friendly

Quiet Season (Aug-Oct)

Avg hotel: $55-150/nightCrowds: LowTemp: 28-30°C

Cheapest rates of the year, but the island runs slow. Some Palm Beach restaurants cut hours in September. August is actually fine. the trade winds hold and Arikok National Park is never less crowded. October is when hurricane activity peaks regionally, though Aruba's position at 12°N means direct hits are rare. Just check travel insurance terms.

Warming Up

Shoulder Season (Nov)

Avg hotel: $120-200/nightCrowds: ModerateTemp: 27-29°C

November is a solid compromise month. Prices are still 20-30% below peak rates, and the island starts buzzing again as hotels prepare for December. American Thanksgiving week brings a noticeable influx from the US, so Palm Beach fills up mid-month. Book Manchebo Beach or Druif Beach properties for quieter options at $150-200/night.

How to Book Hotels in Aruba

Smart booking strategies that save money without sacrificing quality.

Book Eagle Beach hotels 3+ months early for Carnival

Aruba Carnival runs through February and Gran Parade in Oranjestad draws visitors from across the Caribbean. Eagle Beach hotels like Bucuti and Tara Beach Resort sell out 3-4 months in advance for the Carnival weeks. If you miss that window, the only options left are either way over budget or nowhere near the beach. Set a calendar reminder in October if you want February dates.

Rent a car if you're staying in Noord or Malmok

Coconut Inn in Noord and Tierra del Sol near Malmok are both excellent hotels, but without a car you're looking at $25-35 in taxi fares every time you want to reach Eagle Beach or the Palm Beach restaurant strip. Rental cars run $40-60/day from Queen Beatrix International Airport. For a week-long stay, that's $280-420 extra. factor it into your total when comparing prices against beachfront hotels.

Don't assume 'ocean view' means actual ocean view

This is one of the most common complaints from visitors to Aruba. Some hotels on and near J.E. Irausquin Boulevard list rooms as 'ocean view' when you can see a sliver of blue between two other buildings. On our list, Bucuti and Tara Beach Resort, Manchebo Beach Resort, and Divi Aruba All Inclusive all have genuine beachfront access. Always confirm on the hotel website, not just the booking platform photo.

The Arubus bus is good for one corridor only

The Arubus Line 10 runs between Oranjestad's Zoutmanstraat terminal and Palm Beach every 30 minutes for $2.50 per ride. It's reliable for that specific route. But it doesn't reach Arikok National Park, Baby Beach near San Nicolas, or the Natural Pool at Conchi. For those, you need a rental car or a 4WD jeep tour booked through your hotel. most hotels can arrange it for $60-90 per person.

Eat where the locals eat. not where the hotels point you

Zeerovers Fish Market in Savaneta, about 15 minutes south of Oranjestad, is the most authentic food experience on the island. You pay $5-8 for fresh fried fish right off the boat. Gasparito Restaurant in Noord does Aruban cuisine like keshi yena in a converted cunucu house. Both are routinely skipped by tourists who eat three meals at their resort. That's a waste of a food culture worth exploring.

Split the week between two locations if you can

Aruba is only about 32 km long, so splitting a 7-night stay between two areas is very doable. Two nights in Oranjestad near Fort Zoutman gets you the cultural side of the island. The remaining five nights at Eagle Beach or Manchebo gives you the beach experience. You get a more complete picture of Aruba than you would staying in one resort the whole time, and it often works out cheaper than a full week at a Palm Beach strip hotel.

Frequently Asked Questions About Hotels in Aruba

Straight answers from our team after reviewing hotels across Aruba.

Which area of Aruba is best for first-time visitors?

Eagle Beach and Palm Beach are your two real options. Eagle Beach is calmer, less crowded, and the sand is consistently ranked among the best in the Caribbean. Palm Beach has more restaurants and nightlife along J.E. Irausquin Boulevard, but it's busier and noisier. First-timers who want to relax do better at Eagle Beach. Those who want action within walking distance should look at Palm Beach.

What's the cheapest time of year to visit Aruba?

September and October are your cheapest months. Hotel rates drop to $55-130/night across most properties, and crowds are minimal. The trade-off is that September sits inside hurricane season, though Aruba is south of the main hurricane belt and rarely takes direct hits. Temperatures stay around 27-29°C year-round, so you're not giving up much weather-wise.

Is Oranjestad a good base for a beach holiday?

Honestly, no. Oranjestad is Aruba's capital and it's worth a day trip for Fort Zoutman, the colorful Dutch-colonial buildings on Main Street, and the local market. But the nearest decent beach is about 20-25 minutes walk or a $10-12 taxi ride to Druif or Manchebo Beach. If beach access is your priority, stay closer to Eagle Beach or Palm Beach and day-trip into Oranjestad.

How do I get around Aruba without a car?

The Arubus public bus runs between Oranjestad's main terminal on Zoutmanstraat and Palm Beach for around $2.50 per ride. Taxis are plentiful but unmetered. agree on the price before you get in. From Palm Beach to Oranjestad, expect to pay $16-20. Renting a car makes sense if you're heading to Arikok National Park or Baby Beach near San Nicolas, where buses don't go reliably.

Are all-inclusive hotels in Aruba worth it?

It depends on how you drink. Divi Aruba All Inclusive on Druif Beach is genuinely good value for families and big eaters at $185-249/night. But if you plan to eat out at places like Screaming Eagle or Zeerovers Fish Market in Savaneta, you're paying for food you won't use. Do the math before you book. Aruba's restaurant scene is strong enough to skip the all-inclusive trap.

What's the difference between Eagle Beach and Palm Beach?

Eagle Beach on the southwestern coast is wider, quieter, and has almost no hotel vendors on the sand. Palm Beach, about 10 minutes north by car along J.E. Irausquin Boulevard, is where the big resort strip is. water sports rentals, beach bars, and the Hyatt and Marriott towers. Eagle Beach wins on scenery. Palm Beach wins on convenience and nightlife.

When is peak season in Aruba?

December through April is peak season, especially the Christmas-New Year week and Carnival in February. Expect hotel prices to jump 40-60% above off-season rates. a room that costs $150/night in October can easily run $240/night in January. Book anything on Eagle Beach or Palm Beach at least 3-4 months ahead for the holiday weeks. Carnival alone fills up the whole island.

Is Aruba safe for solo travelers?

Aruba is one of the safest islands in the Caribbean. The tourist zones around Palm Beach, Eagle Beach, and Oranjestad's L.G. Smith Boulevard are well-patrolled. San Nicolas on the southeastern tip is more local and less polished. fine during the day, but use common sense at night.
