The Ibis Styles sits directly on Vo Nguyen Giap Street, the main beachfront road running along My Khe Beach. Rooms are small but efficiently designed, with bright interiors and reliable air conditioning. The beach is literally across the road, which is the main selling point at this price. Breakfast is included and covers the basics well enough to skip paying for it separately. For a branded hotel this close to the sand, the value is hard to beat.

Mercure Da Nang French Village Bana Hills hotel interior
#3

Mercure Da Nang French Village Bana Hills

Ba Na Hills, Da Nang $110–160/night 8.5/10

This Accor property is built inside the Ba Na Hills theme park resort at 1,487 meters elevation, giving it a genuinely unique atmosphere. Rooms are designed in a French colonial style and the cooler mountain air is a real relief compared to the coast. Access requires the cable car, so you are essentially committing to the mountain for your stay, which some guests love and others find limiting. The hotel restaurant serves decent food and the setting around the Golden Bridge area is memorable. Book ahead because rooms fill up fast on weekends.

Novotel Da Nang Premier Han River hotel interior
#4

Novotel Da Nang Premier Han River

Han River District, Da Nang $120–185/night 8.7/10

Rooms are spacious and well-maintained, with modern bathrooms and reliable fast wifi. The rooftop pool on the 36th floor is a genuine highlight and the view over the river at sunset is excellent. Staff are professional and the concierge desk handles tour bookings efficiently. It is one of the better positioned hotels in the city for exploring both the beach and the old market area.

The rooftop bar on the 18th floor gets busy on weekends and serves well-priced cocktails with a panoramic view of the Dragon Bridge. Rooms facing the river are worth the small upgrade fee. The location puts you within walking distance of most central attractions.

Pullman Da Nang Beach Resort

My Khe Beach, Da Nang $150–220/night 9/10

The Pullman occupies a large beachfront plot on Vo Nguyen Giap Street with direct access to My Khe Beach. The outdoor pool area is well maintained and the beach loungers are available without needing to fight for a spot. Rooms are generously sized and the sea-view rooms on higher floors are genuinely impressive. Food at the resort restaurant is solid, though pricey by local standards. Families and couples both do well here, and the service level is consistently good across departments.

Check Availability
Crowne Plaza West Ha Noi hotel interior
#7

Crowne Plaza West Ha Noi

Son Tra Peninsula, Da Nang $165–230/night 8.6/10

This IHG property sits near the Son Tra Peninsula side of the city, slightly removed from the central beach strip, which makes it quieter than most competitors. The conference facilities are among the best in Da Nang, making it a frequent choice for business travelers and government events. Rooms are large and well-appointed with good desk space and fast wired internet. The pool is clean and the breakfast buffet is one of the more extensive ones in the city. Leisure travelers may find the location slightly inconvenient for beach access.

Check Availability
A La Carte Da Nang Beach Hotel hotel interior
#8

A La Carte Da Nang Beach Hotel

My Khe Beach, Da Nang $185–249/night 8.8/10

A La Carte stands on Vo Nguyen Giap Street and has one of the more distinctive rooftop infinity pools in Da Nang, sitting above the beach with ocean views on three sides. The rooms are sleek and modern, with floor-to-ceiling windows and well-chosen furnishings. Couples book this place specifically for the pool and the sunset atmosphere, and it delivers on that promise. Service can feel stretched during peak season but the core experience holds up. The in-house restaurant is better than expected for a hotel this focused on aesthetics.

Check Availability
Hyatt Regency Da Nang Resort and Spa hotel interior
#9

Hyatt Regency Da Nang Resort and Spa

Non Nuoc Beach, Da Nang $280–450/night 9.2/10

The Hyatt Regency sits on Non Nuoc Beach near the Marble Mountains, about 15 kilometers south of the city center, and the extra distance from town buys you a much quieter and more spacious resort experience. The grounds are extensive with multiple pools, a private beach stretch, and a full spa facility that is worth booking even if you are not staying. Rooms and residences are finished to a very high standard, with large balconies and proper ocean views from the upper floors. The dining options on site are genuinely good, particularly the seafood restaurant. This is the benchmark luxury property in the Da Nang area.

InterContinental Da Nang Sun Peninsula Resort hotel interior
#10

InterContinental Da Nang Sun Peninsula Resort

Son Tra Peninsula, Da Nang $420–900/night 9.5/10

The InterContinental Sun Peninsula is built into the cliffs of Son Tra Peninsula and designed by Bill Bensley, making it one of the most architecturally striking resorts in Southeast Asia. Getting to your villa often involves a funicular or a walk through jungle-lined paths, which sets the tone for the whole experience. The private beach is secluded and the HARNN Heritage Spa is exceptional, using locally inspired treatments. Every detail from the outdoor bathtubs to the restaurant placement above the treetops is carefully considered. The price is significant but the experience is genuinely unlike anything else in Vietnam.

Where to Stay in Da Nang

The neighborhood you pick matters more than the hotel.

My Khe Beach: The main event

My Khe Beach runs 10km along the east side of Da Nang. Forbes once named it one of the most attractive beaches on the planet. The sand is white, the water is warm from April through September, and the sunrises are worth the early alarm. Most beachfront hotels sit on Vo Nguyen Giap Street.

Pullman Beach and A La Carte are the best positioned, with direct beach access and pools facing the ocean. Novotel Han River and Wink Hotel are one block back but cost 20-30% less. The beach is free and never feels crowded outside of Vietnamese holidays (April 30 and September 2).

The southern end near Marble Mountains is quieter but under construction with new resort developments. The central section between Dragon Bridge and Thuan Phuoc Bridge is the sweet spot. Surfing is decent from September through March with 1-2 meter waves.

Han River District: City side convenience

The west bank of the Han River is Da Nang city proper. Bach Dang Street runs along the river with restaurants, cafes, and the best night views of Dragon Bridge. The Han Market is a 5-minute walk for local goods. Con Market has better food stalls.

Hotels here cost 15-25% less than beachfront. Ibis Styles and Mercure Bana Hills are on this side. You are 10 minutes by motorbike to My Khe Beach. The trade-off: no ocean view, no beach access at your doorstep. But you get better restaurants and nightlife.

If you are only in Da Nang for 1-2 nights as a transit stop between Hue and Hoi An, stay on the river side. You save money and have quicker access to the train station and airport. The beach-side hotels make sense for 3+ night stays.

Son Tra Peninsula: Luxury in seclusion

Son Tra Peninsula juts out north of the city with dense jungle, winding roads, and two of the most exclusive resorts in Vietnam. InterContinental Sun Peninsula sits on the hillside with a funicular between levels. Room rates start at $420 but include a private beach and world-class dining.

The peninsula is also home to the Linh Ung Pagoda with a 67-meter Lady Buddha statue visible from the beach. The drive up takes 30 minutes and the views of the coastline are spectacular. Bring a motorbike, not a car, for the narrow mountain roads.

This area is for couples on a honeymoon budget or anyone who wants complete seclusion. You are 20-30 minutes from the city center. There are no restaurants, convenience stores, or nightlife nearby. The resort is your world. Make peace with that before booking.

Marble Mountains and Non Nuoc Beach

Five limestone karst mountains rise from the flat coastal plain 8km south of the city center. Each represents a natural element: water, wood, fire, metal, earth. Thuy Son (Water Mountain) is the most visited with caves, pagodas, and panoramic views from the summit. Entry is 40,000 VND plus 15,000 VND for the elevator.

Non Nuoc Beach stretches south from the mountains. It is less developed than My Khe with wider spaces between resorts. The area is popular with Korean and Chinese tour groups. Hotels here are resort-style only, no budget options.

Visit the Marble Mountains as a half-day trip from My Khe Beach, not as your base. The area lacks restaurants and nightlife. A Grab from My Khe costs 50,000 VND. Go early morning (before 9am) to avoid tour bus crowds at the cave entrances.

Budget Da Nang: Beach city on a backpacker budget

Da Nang is one of the cheapest beach cities in Southeast Asia. Hangout Hostel near My Khe has dorms from $8 and private rooms from $45. Ibis Styles on the river side starts at $75 with breakfast included. You can stay near the beach in a real hotel for less than a hostel in Bali.

Street food here is even cheaper than Hanoi. Mi Quang costs 35,000-50,000 VND. Banh mi is 20,000-30,000 VND. Seafood dinners at local restaurants on Hoang Sa cost 100,000-200,000 VND per person for grilled fish, prawns, and clams. Bia Larue (local beer) is 12,000 VND.

Motorbike rental (100,000-150,000 VND/day) replaces the need for taxis. Da Nang is flat and easy to navigate. My Khe Beach to Marble Mountains is a 15-minute ride. The airport to anywhere in the city is under 20 minutes. You do not need organized tours here.

Da Nang as a base for central Vietnam

Da Nang is the transport hub for central Vietnam. Hoi An is 30 minutes south (150,000 VND by Grab). Hue is 2 hours north by train (100,000 VND) or the spectacular Hai Van Pass by motorbike (2 hours, free). Ba Na Hills is 40 minutes west by car.

The smart play: stay in Da Nang for the beach and visit Hoi An as a day trip. Hoi An hotels charge a 30-50% premium for the old town atmosphere, but you can enjoy the lantern-lit streets and tailors for an afternoon and return to your Da Nang beachfront by sunset.

The train to Hue along the coast is one of the most scenic rail journeys in Southeast Asia. The section over Hai Van Pass takes 45 minutes and passes through tunnels carved into cliffsides above the ocean. Book a soft seat (75,000 VND) for the morning departure northbound. Sit on the left side for ocean views.

Da Nang's best neighborhoods

Da Nang stretches along 30km of coastline with the Han River splitting the city in two. The west side has the city center, markets, and restaurants. The east side has the beaches. Son Tra Peninsula to the north has the luxury resorts. Ba Na Hills is 40 minutes into the mountains.

My Khe Beach 5 vetted hotels

10km of white sand and the best sunrises in Vietnam

The main beachfront strip along Vo Nguyen Giap Street hosts five of our ten picks. From the budget Hangout Hostel to the luxury Hyatt Regency, this stretch covers every price point. The beach is free, rarely crowded, and safe for swimming from March through August.

Hotels on the ocean side of Vo Nguyen Giap have direct beach access. Those on the inland side save 20-30% and are still a 2-minute walk to the sand. The central section between Pham Van Dong and Nguyen Van Thoai is the best positioned for restaurants and convenience stores.

Best areas Central My Khe, An Thuong neighborhood
Price range $45-450/night
Best for Beach lovers, families, first-timers
Avoid Southern end near construction zones
Best months Mar-Aug
Han River District 3 vetted hotels

City center with river views and night markets

The west bank of the Han River is Da Nang urban core. Bach Dang riverside walk, Dragon Bridge views, Han Market, and the best local restaurants are all here. Hotels cost 15-25% less than beachfront equivalents.

This side works best for short stays and transit stops. You are closer to the train station, airport, and local food scene. The beach is a 10-minute motorbike ride away. Mercure and Novotel are the best picks on this side.

Best areas Bach Dang, Hai Chau, near Dragon Bridge
Price range $75-210/night
Best for Short stays, transit visitors, city explorers
Avoid West of the train station (industrial)
Best months Mar-Aug
Son Tra Peninsula 1 vetted hotel

Jungle-clad headland with the best resort in central Vietnam

The peninsula north of Da Nang is where InterContinental Sun Peninsula hides among the trees. This is a destination in itself. Private beach, multiple restaurants, a funicular, and views that justify the $420+ nightly rate. The Linh Ung Pagoda with its 67-meter Lady Buddha statue is a 15-minute drive.

Son Tra is for seclusion seekers. There is nothing else here: no shops, no restaurants, no nightlife outside the resort. The drive to Da Nang city takes 20-30 minutes. You trade convenience for exclusivity.

Best areas Southern peninsula slope
Price range $420-900/night
Best for Honeymoons, luxury seekers, seclusion
Avoid Northern side (no access, military zone)
Best months Mar-Aug
Non Nuoc Beach 1 vetted hotel

Quieter beach near the Marble Mountains

The southern beach stretches from the Marble Mountains toward Hoi An. It is wider and quieter than My Khe, with larger resort properties and fewer budget options. The area attracts Korean and Chinese tour groups, so expect Korean BBQ restaurants and signage in multiple languages.

Stay here if you want a resort experience without leaving the property much. Hyatt Regency and a few large resorts dominate. The Marble Mountains are a 5-minute drive, but Da Nang city center is 20 minutes away. Not ideal for exploring the city.

Best areas Near Marble Mountains entrance
Price range $150-450/night
Best for Resort stays, couples, quiet beach seekers
Avoid Construction zones between resorts
Best months Mar-Aug

40%

Location Quality

Is the neighborhood walkable? Are restaurants, shops, and attractions within 10 minutes on foot? How does it feel after dark? We evaluate safety, public transport access, and whether the area has genuine local character or just tourist traps. A hotel in the wrong neighborhood ruins a trip. That's why location carries the most weight.

30%

Value for Money

We compare what you pay against what you get. A €150 hotel with a great location, clean rooms, and helpful staff can outscore a €500 hotel with fancy amenities in a bad area. We factor in seasonal pricing, cancellation policies, and hidden costs like tourist tax and breakfast surcharges. The goal is finding the best ratio, not the lowest price.

30%

Guest Experience

We analyze thousands of verified guest reviews across multiple platforms, looking for patterns rather than individual complaints. Consistent praise for cleanliness, staff, and room quality counts. We also assess the intangibles: does the hotel have character? Would you recommend it to a friend? A soul-less chain hotel with perfect facilities still loses to a well-run boutique with personality.

When to Visit Da Nang

When to visit Da Nang and what to pay.

Peak Season

Summer (June-August)

Avg hotel: $110-250/nightCrowds: HighTemp: 29-36°C

Peak season, especially July and August when Vietnamese families take holidays. My Khe Beach gets busy but never feels packed by Thai or Bali standards. Hotels charge peak rates. Pullman and Hyatt Regency need 3 weeks advance booking in July. The heat is intense, 34-36°C, but the ocean is right there.

Typhoon Risk

Autumn (September-November)

Avg hotel: $60-140/nightCrowds: LowTemp: 24-30°C

This is typhoon season. October is the wettest month with 400mm+ of rain. Some years bring direct hits with wind and flooding. Hotels drop 30-40% in price. Surfing picks up with bigger swells. If you are flexible and okay with rain, October hotel deals are the best of the year. Check weather forecasts before booking.

Cool Season

Winter (December-February)

Avg hotel: $75-170/nightCrowds: Low-ModerateTemp: 20-25°C

Cool by Vietnamese standards but still pleasant. 20-25°C with occasional drizzle. The sea is rougher and swimming is less appealing. But the Marble Mountains and Ba Na Hills are perfect temperature for hiking. Good value with 20-25% off summer rates. Christmas and New Year weeks are the exception, prices jump 30%.

Booking Tips for Da Nang

Insider tips for booking hotels in Da Nang.

Rent a motorbike on day one

Da Nang is built for two wheels. Flat roads, light traffic (compared to Hanoi and HCMC), and everything is 15 minutes away. Rentals cost 100,000-150,000 VND per day ($4-6). The Son Tra coastal road is worth the rental alone. Helmets are mandatory and provided. International license technically required but rarely checked.

Stay beachfront, not riverside, for 3+ nights

If you are in Da Nang for the beach (and you should be), pay the 20-30% premium for Vo Nguyen Giap ocean-side hotels. Walking 2 minutes to the sand versus taking a 10-minute Grab makes a real difference over multiple days. For a 1-night transit stop between Hue and Hoi An, riverside is fine and saves money.

Visit Hoi An as a day trip, not a separate booking

Hoi An is 30 minutes south by Grab (150,000 VND). You can explore the old town, get clothes tailored, eat cao lau noodles, and return to your Da Nang beachfront by sunset. Hoi An hotels charge 30-50% more for the old town atmosphere. Save by staying in Da Nang and visiting for the afternoon.

Book Ba Na Hills tickets online

Walk-up tickets for Ba Na Hills cost 900,000 VND for adults. Online booking is the same price but skips the 30-minute ticket queue. Go on a weekday. The Golden Bridge is packed on weekends with domestic tourists. Take the first cable car at 7:30am for the best photos without crowds.

Watch Dragon Bridge on Saturday night

The Dragon Bridge breathes fire and sprays water every Saturday and Sunday at 9pm. Position yourself on the east bank near An Thuong for the best view. It lasts 15 minutes. Free. Genuinely impressive engineering. Do not bother on weekday nights, nothing happens.

October is the cheapest but riskiest month

Typhoon season (September-November) drops hotel rates 30-40%. October is the wettest with 400mm+ rain. If you are flexible and can rebook, the savings are significant: Pullman at $90 versus $180 in summer. Check the Vietnam weather service (nchmf.gov.vn) before committing.

Hotels in Da Nang — FAQ

Everything you need to know before booking hotels in Da Nang.

What is the best area to stay in Da Nang?

My Khe Beach is the default and for good reason. The 10km stretch of white sand is 5 minutes from the city center across Dragon Bridge. Hotels on Vo Nguyen Giap Street face the ocean directly. Pullman Beach and A La Carte are the best positioned. Son Tra Peninsula is better for honeymoons. Skip Non Nuoc Beach unless you want isolation.

How much does a hotel in Da Nang cost per night?

Budget hostels near the beach start at $45-70. Mid-range beachfront hotels like Novotel or Pullman run $120-220. InterContinental Sun Peninsula on Son Tra starts at $420. Prices drop 40% during the rainy season (October to December). My Khe Beach mid-range in summer costs $150-220/night.

When is the best time to visit Da Nang?

March through August for beach weather. May and June are the sweet spot with 30-34°C, calm seas, and hotel prices before peak summer markup. September through November brings typhoon risk and heavy rain. October is the wettest month with 400mm+ of rainfall. January and February are cool and overcast.

Is Da Nang better than Hoi An for a beach holiday?

Yes, if you want a proper beach with swimming. My Khe Beach is cleaner, wider, and has better waves than An Bang Beach in Hoi An. Da Nang has more hotel options and lower prices. Hoi An wins for charm and food. The two cities are 30 minutes apart by Grab (150,000 VND), so you can easily do both.

How do I get from Da Nang Airport to My Khe Beach?

Da Nang Airport is 5km from My Khe Beach. Grab costs 60,000-80,000 VND and takes 10-15 minutes. The airport is one of the closest to a beach in all of Southeast Asia. Some hotels on Vo Nguyen Giap are literally 10 minutes from your gate. No bus needed.

Is Da Nang good for families?

Excellent. My Khe Beach has gentle waves most of the year (except typhoon season). The Marble Mountains are a 15-minute drive south with caves kids love exploring. Ba Na Hills and the Golden Bridge are a full-day family activity, 800,000 VND per adult. Pullman Beach and Crowne Plaza both have kids pools and family rooms.

What should I eat in Da Nang?

Mi Quang (turmeric noodles) at Mi Quang 1A on Hai Phong Street, 40,000 VND. Banh trang cuon (fresh spring rolls made tableside) at Tran on Dung Si Thanh Khe, 60,000 VND for a set. Seafood at Be Man on Hoang Sa, 200,000-400,000 VND for two. Banh xeo Ba Duong on Hoang Dieu for the best crispy pancakes, 30,000 VND each.

Should I rent a motorbike in Da Nang?

A motorbike is the best way to explore Da Nang. Rentals cost 100,000-150,000 VND per day. The coastal road from My Khe to Son Tra Peninsula is one of the best rides in Vietnam, 20km of ocean views. Marble Mountains are a 15-minute ride south. Ba Na Hills requires a car, though. The mountain road is too steep for small bikes.

How many days do I need in Da Nang?

Three days is the sweet spot. Day one: My Khe Beach and Dragon Bridge at night (fire-breathing show Saturday at 9pm). Day two: Son Tra Peninsula by motorbike and Marble Mountains. Day three: Ba Na Hills and Golden Bridge (full day). Add a fourth day for a Hoi An trip, 30 minutes south.

Is the Dragon Bridge worth seeing?

The Dragon Bridge breathes fire and sprays water every Saturday and Sunday at 9pm. It lasts 15 minutes and draws a huge crowd. Position yourself on the east side of the Han River near Tran Hung Dao Street for the best view. It is free and genuinely impressive. Skip the Wednesday and Thursday nights, nothing happens.

What areas in Da Nang should I avoid?

Skip the area west of the train station on Hai Phong Street. It is industrial and far from both the beach and the river. The stretch of Non Nuoc Beach near the Marble Mountains is overdeveloped with construction noise from new resorts. Lien Chieu district to the north is residential with no tourist infrastructure.

Is Da Nang safe?

Da Nang is one of the safest cities in Vietnam. Petty crime is rare compared to Hanoi or HCMC. My Khe Beach is safe to walk at night. The main risk is riptides during typhoon season (September to November). Yellow and red flags on the beach mean do not swim. Motorbike theft is uncommon but lock your rental anyway.
