Why These Hotels Made Our List
Every hotel earned its spot. Here's exactly why we picked each one.
Mojzo Inn Nha Trang
This hostel-style inn on Pham Ngu Lao Street puts you right in the middle of Nha Trang's backpacker zone. Rooms are small but clean, with decent air conditioning and fresh linens. The staff organize day trips to Hon Mun island at good prices. Grab a room on an upper floor to escape the street noise.
Check Availability
Alana Nha Trang Beach Hotel
Alana sits directly on Tran Phu Boulevard, the main coastal strip, with the beach just across the road. Rooms are compact but well-maintained, and the sea-view balconies on upper floors are genuinely worth requesting. Breakfast is included and covers Vietnamese and Western basics competently. The pool is small but functional for a quick dip between beach visits.
Check Availability
Nha Trang Lodge Hotel
The Lodge has been a reliable mid-range staple on Tran Phu Street for years, sitting about a five-minute walk from the Nha Trang Center mall. Rooms are spacious by local standards and the beds are comfortable. The rooftop pool area has good views of the bay on clear days. Service is professional and the concierge desk is genuinely helpful with boat trip bookings.
Check Availability
TTC Hotel Premium Nha Trang
TTC Premium is a solid choice for families, located on Nguyen Thien Thuat Street about three blocks from the main beach. The rooms are large enough to fit a cot without feeling cramped, and the hotel has a proper kids pool alongside the adult one. Breakfast spread is generous and includes pho, which kids tend to enjoy. The area around the hotel has plenty of seafood restaurants within easy walking distance.
Check Availability
Mia Resort Nha Trang
Mia occupies a quieter stretch of coastline south of the main Nha Trang strip at Bai Dong Beach, about 20 minutes from the city center by taxi. The bungalows and villas are beautifully designed with local materials, and each has a private terrace facing the sea. The beach here is calmer and less crowded than the main town beach. The on-site restaurant, Sandals, is one of the better dining experiences in the whole Nha Trang area.
Check Availability
Novotel Nha Trang
Novotel sits right on Tran Phu Boulevard with direct beach access and a large outdoor pool that stays busy throughout the day. The rooms are exactly what you expect from Novotel: consistent, clean, and functional, with good soundproofing from the street below. The conference facilities make it a frequent choice for business travelers passing through. Club-level rooms get access to a lounge with evening drinks, which is a decent perk for the price.
Check Availability
Sheraton Nha Trang Hotel and Spa
The Sheraton towers over the central section of Tran Phu Boulevard and delivers the most consistent service of any hotel in the mid-to-upper range in Nha Trang. The infinity pool on the seventh floor looking out over the bay is a genuine highlight and worth the room rate alone. Rooms are spacious and the beds are among the most comfortable in the city. The Link@Sheraton social space in the lobby is a good spot for working or meeting other travelers.
Check Availability
Evason Ana Mandara Nha Trang
Ana Mandara occupies a small private beachfront compound at the quieter northern end of Tran Phu Boulevard, separated from the main tourist strip by a low wall and gardens. The resort feel here is real, not manufactured, with Vietnamese-style bungalows spread across the property. The Six Senses spa attached to the resort is exceptional and worth booking even if you are not staying here. It is considerably more peaceful than the big tower hotels further south on the same road.
Check Availability
Vinpearl Resort and Spa Nha Trang Bay
Vinpearl occupies most of Hon Tre Island, reached by a private cable car from the mainland that takes about ten minutes and is a memorable arrival in itself. The resort is enormous, with multiple pools, private beaches, a water park, and a golf course all on-site. Rooms in the main resort block have direct sea views and are finished to a high standard. This is best suited to guests who want everything in one place and do not mind paying resort prices for food and activities on the island.
Check Availability
Anam Resort Nha Trang
The Anam sits on the Cam Ranh Peninsula about 35 kilometers south of Nha Trang city, fronting a long stretch of white-sand beach that is largely empty compared to the main town beach. The architecture draws heavily from French Indochine style and is executed with real care throughout the property. Pool villas come with private plunge pools and outdoor bathrooms, and the seclusion feels genuine rather than manufactured. The restaurants on-site are excellent, particularly the seafood served at the beachside grill, which makes the distance from the city feel irrelevant.

Nha Trang Beach Guide: Where to Set Up
The 7km Nha Trang beach is not created equal. The best section runs from the Sailing Club (72 Tran Phu) south to the Sheraton at 26-28 Tran Phu. Sand is cleanest, water is calmest, and lifeguards are stationed every 300 meters. Sunbeds at beachfront cafes cost 50,000-100,000 VND with a drink purchase.
The stretch north of Hon Chong promontory has rougher waves and fewer services. Good for a quiet walk but not ideal for swimming. The far south near Bai Dai beach (30km from center) has the whitest sand and fewest people, but you need transport to get there.
Sunrise at 5:30am is the magic hour. Local joggers, tai chi groups, and fishermen pulling nets. By 9am the beach chairs and tour boats take over. Sunset happens behind the mountains, so the evening light is golden on the water from about 4:30pm. Bring reef-safe sunscreen: the coral at Hon Mun is worth protecting.
Diving Nha Trang: A Complete Guide
Hon Mun Marine Reserve is the centerpiece, with 350+ coral species and visibility up to 25 meters from March through August. The reserve entrance fee (150,000 VND) is included in most dive packages. Top sites: Moray Garden (moray eels, clownfish, 12-18m depth), Madonna Rock (soft corals, barracuda schools, 18-25m), and Coral Garden (shallow, perfect for beginners, 6-12m).
A 2-dive day trip costs $60-80 with reputable operators. Sailing Club Divers on Tran Phu has PADI 5-star rating and English-speaking instructors. Rainbow Divers has been operating since 1996. Avoid the $25 snorkel-and-dive combo tours that pack 40 people on a boat. PADI Open Water certification runs $350-400 over 3-4 days.
Visibility drops significantly from October to January (monsoon season, 3-8 meters). If diving is your main reason for visiting, come between March and August. July and August have the warmest water (28-30 degrees) but also the most dive boats. April and May are the quiet sweet spot.
Beyond the Beach: Culture and History
Po Nagar Cham Towers sit on a hill north of the Cai River, built between the 7th and 12th centuries. Entry costs 22,000 VND. The main tower dedicated to the goddess Yan Po Nagar stands 23 meters tall. Visit before 9am to avoid tour groups. The views over the river and fishing boats are worth the climb alone.
Long Son Pagoda on Thai Nguyen street is free to enter. Climb 152 steps to reach the 24-meter white Buddha sitting cross-legged atop the hill. The panoramic view of Nha Trang from here beats anything you will see from a hotel balcony. Go in the late afternoon for the best light.
The Alexandre Yersin Museum on Tran Phu (28,000 VND) tells the story of the Swiss-French bacteriologist who discovered the plague bacillus and made Nha Trang his home. Small but fascinating. Takes 30 minutes. The Oceanographic Institute next door (40,000 VND) has a aquarium and preserved marine specimens from the 1920s.
Nha Trang Street Food Map
Start at Quan 67 on Le Loi for bun cha ca (fish cake noodles), the signature Nha Trang dish at 35,000 VND. The broth is light, the fish cakes are fresh, and the jellyfish garnish is uniquely local. Open 6am to 2pm only.
Vu Nhu on Hai Thang Tu street does the best nem nuong (grilled pork sausage) in the city. A set with rice paper, herbs, and dipping sauce costs 60,000 VND for two. Banh canh cha ca (thick noodle fish cake soup) at Cho Dam market stalls runs 30,000 VND. The seafood market on Phan Boi Chau operates from 4pm: pick your catch, pay by kilo, grill station cooks it for 20,000 VND.
Skip the tourist restaurants on Biet Thu street. Prices are 3-4x local rates for worse food. Louisiane Brewhouse on Tran Phu is the one exception on the tourist strip: good pizza (150,000 VND), beachfront seating, and a pool you can use with any food order.
Nha Trang with Kids: Family Itinerary
Vinpearl Land on Hon Tre island is the obvious kid draw. The 3,320-meter cable car across the bay is impressive (entry 880,000 VND adults, 700,000 VND kids includes all rides). But spend maximum half a day: the rides are average and food is overpriced. The aquarium and water park sections are the highlights.
Better family options: the beach itself (free, lifeguarded), boat trips to Hon Mun for snorkeling ($15-20 per person including lunch), and the mud baths at Thap Ba Hot Springs (250,000-400,000 VND per person, 2km from Po Nagar). Kids love the mud pools and waterslides.
Stay in the central Tran Phu section between the Novotel and Sheraton where sidewalks are widest and traffic is manageable. Both hotels have family rooms and pools. Avoid the backpacker area around Biet Thu: noisy bars until 2am and narrow streets with motorbike traffic.
Day Trips from Nha Trang
Doc Let Beach (50km north, 1 hour by car) is what Nha Trang beach looked like 20 years ago: long white sand, shallow clear water, a handful of restaurants. Grab car costs about 500,000 VND round trip. Jungle Beach (60km north) is the backpacker version with basic bungalows from $15.
Ba Ho Waterfalls (25km north, 30,000 VND entry) have three levels connected by a rocky trail. The 30-minute hike passes through forest and ends at natural swimming pools. Bring water shoes. Best visited in the morning before afternoon heat.
Yang Bay Eco Park (45km west, 100,000 VND entry) has hot springs, waterfalls, and a crocodile feeding area (sounds touristy, is actually entertaining). The drive through the highlands passes Suoi Mo village with coffee plantations. Combine with a stop at Hon Ba Nature Reserve (1,578m elevation, permission required) if you have a motorbike and a full day.
Nha Trang's best neighborhoods
Nha Trang stretches along the coast with most hotels lining Tran Phu boulevard. The city center clusters around the southern beach. Quieter options sit north toward Hon Chong or south at Bai Dai beach near Cam Ranh.
Central Beach / Tran Phu 5 vetted hotels Beachfront strip. Walk to everything.
Beachfront strip. Walk to everything.
The main tourist zone runs along Tran Phu boulevard from the Sailing Club south to the Sheraton. This 2km strip has the highest hotel density, best beach access, and most restaurants. The Night Market, Sailing Club beach bar, and Louisiane Brewhouse are all here.
Hotels range from $72 budget picks one block back to $240 beachfront rooms at Sheraton and Novotel. The trade-off is noise: Tran Phu has constant motorbike traffic and bars on Biet Thu side streets run until 2am. Request upper floors facing the sea.
North Nha Trang / Hon Chong 2 vetted hotels Quieter. Local feel. Near Po Nagar.
Quieter. Local feel. Near Po Nagar.
The area north of the Cai River bridge around Hon Chong promontory is noticeably calmer than central Tran Phu. Po Nagar Towers are a 5-minute walk. Local restaurants on Nguyen Binh Khiem serve authentic Vietnamese food at local prices.
The beach here is rockier and less groomed than the central strip. Swimming is possible but less pleasant. The advantage is proximity to Po Nagar, Long Son Pagoda (15-minute walk), and significantly lower hotel prices. A Grab to the central beach takes 8 minutes.
South / Bai Dai (Cam Ranh) 2 vetted hotels Luxury resorts. Pristine beach. 30km from center.
Luxury resorts. Pristine beach. 30km from center.
Bai Dai beach stretches 15km along the coast between Nha Trang city and Cam Ranh airport. Major international resorts including Vinpearl and Anam have set up here. The beach is cleaner, wider, and less crowded than central Nha Trang.
The trade-off is isolation. Getting to Nha Trang city center takes 30-40 minutes by taxi (300,000 VND). Restaurants are limited to hotel dining. This area suits couples and families who want a resort experience without needing the city. The airport is only 15 minutes away.
Ninh Van Bay 1 vetted hotel Boat-access only. True isolation.
Boat-access only. True isolation.
Ninh Van Bay sits 1 hour north of Nha Trang by boat. No road access. Evason Ana Mandara and a few boutique resorts are the only options. The bay is surrounded by boulders and jungle with a private beach feel that central Nha Trang lost years ago.
Resorts arrange speedboat transfers from the mainland. Expect all-inclusive pricing since there are no independent restaurants. Snorkeling off the rocks is excellent with clear water and reef fish. This is for travelers who want to disconnect completely.
Best Areas by Vibe

Family
Vinpearl cable car (3,320 meters over the bay) plus water park at 880,000 VND. Mud baths at Thap Ba Hot Springs (250,000 VND) with slides for kids. Lifeguarded beach sections every 300 meters. Central hotels like Novotel have family pools.
Budget

Beach
7km of sand along Tran Phu. Best section between Sailing Club and Sheraton: cleanest sand, calmest water, lifeguards on duty. Bai Dai (30km south) for resort-quality white sand. Doc Let (50km north) for empty stretches. Water temperature 27-30 degrees from May to September.
Foodie
Bun cha ca (fish cake noodles with jellyfish) at Quan 67 for 35,000 VND. Nem nuong sets at Vu Nhu for 60,000 VND. Live seafood market on Phan Boi Chau: pick your catch, grilled for 20,000 VND. Louisiane Brewhouse does craft beer and pizza on the beach from 150,000 VND.
Location Quality
Is the neighborhood walkable? Are restaurants, shops, and attractions within 10 minutes on foot? How does it feel after dark? We evaluate safety, public transport access, and whether the area has genuine local character or just tourist traps. A hotel in the wrong neighborhood ruins a trip. That's why location carries the most weight.
Value for Money
We compare what you pay against what you get. A €150 hotel with a great location, clean rooms, and helpful staff can outscore a €500 hotel with fancy amenities in a bad area. We factor in seasonal pricing, cancellation policies, and hidden costs like tourist tax and breakfast surcharges. The goal is finding the best ratio, not the lowest price.
Guest Experience
We analyze thousands of verified guest reviews across multiple platforms, looking for patterns rather than individual complaints. Consistent praise for cleanliness, staff, and room quality counts. We also assess the intangibles: does the hotel have character? Would you recommend it to a friend? A soul-less chain hotel with perfect facilities still loses to a well-run boutique with personality.
When to Visit Nha Trang
When to visit Nha Trang and what to pay.
Dry Season (Feb-Aug)
Clear skies, calm seas, perfect diving visibility (15-25 meters at Hon Mun). February through May is the sweet spot before summer domestic crowds arrive. June through August brings peak heat and Vietnamese school holidays. Book diving trips in advance for July and August weekends.
Shoulder (Sep)
September is a gamble. Early September can be beautiful with empty beaches. Late September brings the first monsoon storms. Prices drop 20-30% and tourist crowds thin out. Good for flexible travelers who can shift plans if weather turns. Island boats may cancel on stormy days.
Monsoon (Oct-Dec)
Heavy rain, rough surf, and grey skies. November is the wettest month with 300mm+ rainfall. Island boat trips cancel frequently. Diving visibility drops to 3-8 meters. Hotel prices hit their lowest. Only visit during monsoon if Nha Trang is a quick stop on a longer Vietnam trip and you accept limited beach time.
Cool Dry (Jan)
January is the transition from monsoon to dry season. Occasional showers, especially early in the month, but improving by the third week. Temperatures are the coolest of the year at 24-27 degrees, comfortable for sightseeing. Prices remain below peak season. A reasonable time to visit with a rain jacket.
Booking Tips for Nha Trang
Insider tips for booking hotels in Nha Trang.
The airport is 30km south, plan transfers
Cam Ranh Airport sits 30-40 minutes from central Nha Trang. Grab costs 250,000-350,000 VND. Airport buses (60,000 VND) drop you at the bus station 2km from the beach. If staying at Bai Dai resorts, the airport is only 15 minutes away. Pre-book transfers through your hotel if arriving late.
Avoid the party island boats
The $10 all-you-can-drink island hopping tours are Nha Trangs worst tourist trap. Overcrowded boats, terrible food, drunk passengers jumping off the roof. Book a proper snorkeling trip to Hon Mun through Sailing Club Divers ($25-40) or rent a private boat at the south port for 1,500,000 VND for 4 people.
Dive season matters enormously
March through August gives 15-25 meter visibility at Hon Mun Marine Reserve. October through January drops to 3-8 meters with rough surface conditions. If diving is your main reason, do not come during monsoon season. Book with PADI-certified operators: Sailing Club Divers or Rainbow Divers on Tran Phu.
Eat at the market, not on Biet Thu
Biet Thu street restaurants charge 3-4x local rates for inferior food. The seafood market on Phan Boi Chau operates from 4pm: choose live seafood by the kilo and a cook station grills it for 20,000 VND. Dinner for two with lobster, shrimp, and beer comes to 400,000-600,000 VND.
Beach theft is real, use lockers
Do not leave bags, phones, or wallets on your beach towel for even 5 minutes. Petty theft along the Tran Phu beach strip is common. Some beachfront cafes offer locker services (20,000 VND). Hotel pools are a safer option for leaving belongings. Wear a waterproof phone pouch in the water.
Mud baths are worth the detour
Thap Ba Hot Springs (2km from Po Nagar, 250,000-400,000 VND) has mineral mud pools, hot spring soaking, and waterslides. Go early morning (opening at 7am) before tour groups arrive at 10am. The VIP mud bath (400,000 VND) gives a private pool for 2 people. Bring a change of clothes.
Hotels in Nha Trang — FAQ
Everything you need to know before booking hotels in Nha Trang.
What is the best area to stay in Nha Trang?
The central beach section between Tran Quang Khai and Nguyen Thien Thuat streets is the sweet spot. You are within 200 meters of the beach, surrounded by restaurants, and 10 minutes walk from the Night Market. Avoid the far north end of Tran Phu past Hon Chong: cheaper hotels but a 30-minute walk to anything useful.
How much do hotels cost in Nha Trang?
Budget guesthouses one block from the beach start at $30-45 per night. The mid-range beachfront strip along Tran Phu runs $105-250 for ocean-view rooms. Luxury resorts at Cam Ranh Bay (30km south) and Ninh Van Bay charge $280-650. Nha Trang is 30-40% cheaper than Phu Quoc or Da Nang for equivalent quality.
When is the best time to visit Nha Trang?
February through August is ideal. Clear skies, 28-32 degree temperatures, and calm seas for diving. The monsoon hits October through December with heavy rain and rough surf that closes island boats for days. January is transitional with occasional showers. March through May hits the sweet spot of good weather and lower prices than summer peak.
Is Nha Trang worth visiting or overrated?
Nha Trang is worth it if you calibrate expectations. Skip the tacky tourist strip around Biet Thu street with its Russian-language menus and overpriced cocktails. The genuine draws are world-class scuba diving at Hon Mun Marine Reserve (visibility 15-25 meters), the Cham towers at Po Nagar (22,000 VND, 1,000+ years old), and fresh seafood at the markets on Phan Boi Chau for under $5 per meal.
How do I get from Ho Chi Minh City to Nha Trang?
Flights from Tan Son Nhat to Cam Ranh Airport take 1 hour and cost 500,000-1,000,000 VND on VietJet or Bamboo Airways. The airport is 30km south of city center. Grab to your hotel costs 250,000-350,000 VND. The Reunification Express train takes 7-8 hours (soft berth 500,000 VND) and arrives at Nha Trang Station, a 10-minute Grab from the beach.
Is Nha Trang good for diving?
Nha Trang has some of the best diving in Vietnam. Hon Mun Marine Reserve has 350+ coral species with visibility reaching 25 meters from March through August. A 2-dive day trip costs $60-80 with operators like Sailing Club Divers or Rainbow Divers on Tran Phu. PADI Open Water certification runs $350-400 over 3-4 days. Moray Garden and Madonna Rock are the top sites.
What food should I try in Nha Trang?
Bun cha ca (fish cake noodle soup) is the local signature. The best version is at Quan 67 on Le Loi street for 35,000 VND. Nem nuong (grilled pork sausage wraps) at Vu Nhu on Hai Thang Tu costs 60,000 VND for a set. The seafood market on Phan Boi Chau sells fresh catch by the kilo: grilled lobster for 350,000 VND, mantis shrimp for 200,000 VND. Avoid the tourist restaurants on Biet Thu.
What should I avoid in Nha Trang?
Skip the Biet Thu backpacker strip: overpriced, underwhelming food, aggressive touts. Avoid the island hopping party boats ($10 all-you-can-drink, low-quality boats, drunk crowds). The Vinpearl cable car is scenic but Vinpearl Land itself is an overpriced theme park at 880,000 VND entry. Dam Market is fine for photos but tourist-trap pricing on everything.
Is Nha Trang safe?
Generally safe. The main risks are petty theft on the beach (do not leave bags unattended, even for 5 minutes) and motorbike bag-snatching on Tran Phu at night. Use hotel safes for passports and excess cash. The beach is patrolled and lifeguards operate from 6am to 6pm at marked stations every 300 meters along the main strip.
Can I take day trips from Nha Trang?
Ninh Van Bay (1 hour north by boat, accessible only by water) has isolated beach resorts and snorkeling. Doc Let Beach (50km north, 1 hour drive) has white sand without the Nha Trang crowds. The Ba Ho Waterfalls (25km north, 30,000 VND entry) require a 30-minute hike and are genuinely refreshing. Whale Island (90 minutes north by boat) offers diving with whale sharks from April to July.
How many days do I need in Nha Trang?
Three days is the sweet spot. Day 1: beach, Po Nagar Towers (22,000 VND), Long Son Pagoda (free). Day 2: diving or snorkeling trip to Hon Mun (full day, $60-80). Day 3: motorbike to Doc Let Beach or Ba Ho Waterfalls. Adding a 4th day lets you explore Cam Ranh Bay or take a boat to Ninh Van Bay.
Is the Nha Trang Night Market worth visiting?
The Night Market on Tran Phu near the beach park is worth 30-45 minutes. Food stalls sell grilled squid from 40,000 VND, banh xeo (Vietnamese crepes) for 25,000 VND, and sugarcane juice for 15,000 VND. The clothing and souvenir sections are typical tourist fare. Go before 8pm for the best food selection. After 9pm it gets loud with karaoke speakers.
